Rescue |Chapter 13|

- Rin's POV -

I didn't have a chance to do anything, the black haired girl who had been sheltered at the back had shoved me out of the way, running towards the red haired girl. She didn't even say anything to Kaneki who I could tell was having a mental breakdown, as she tried to help.

My eyes directed towards the current action, and I don't think you understand that my heart literally skipped a beat, but sighed in relief when I saw who was taking the demon ghoul down. "Yukio!"

"Rin, find your sword, right now!" Yukio yelled slightly, which startled me as he shot another bullet into the demon ghoul's body.

"Oh-uh...what about Kaneki though!?" I Called, flinching at the horrid sounds of the screeching.

"Leave him, just find it already!" Yukio Commanded, he sounded dead serious which made me start sprinting.

I sighed a bit, since too many things were happening at once, I started retracing my steps, through already broken down walls in order to find my sword....this might take a while...

- Kaneki's POV -

"I'm sorry....I'm sorry...I'm sorry...I'm sorry...!!" I whimpered a bit, covering my face with my hands as I didn't want to face reality.

There wasn't a response, so I slowly looked up, wiping some tears from my eyes. The black haired girl was carrying the red haired girl, while the demon ghoul screeched still. The black haired girl didn't even glance at Yukio, she just flat out ran to freedom.

"I'm so sorry..." I mumbled, wiping more tears away from my face.

I watched Yukio and the demon ghoul, which surprised me because a black silhouette drained out of the body that had been shot. What in the world was happening?!

"Kaneki get over here and help the actual body, he was possessed by a demon...!" Yukio shouted, he shot bullets at the silhouette, trying to kill it.

I cautiously ran over without a second thought, my heart was still racing from my backfired plan as I kneeled down to the ghoul.

"H-hey...? Y-you Okay..?" I shook him a bit, nervously as I watched him open his eyes slowly.

The ghoul shot upwards, almost head butting me, although I did manage to dodge it quickly.

"Where am I, Where is she-wha-Wait you're the eyepatch..!" The ghoul seemed clueless, as well as scared.

Oh....I forgot my code name by the CCG was 'Eyepatch', man they could've been more creative....but anyways, I have a really bad feeling the 'She' he's talking about is the red haired girl. Nothing is coming out of my mouth....what do I say!?

- Rin's POV -

Alright then, I think I've searched for a good twenty minutes now.....how nerve racking is that, it's like a cliff hanger at the end of a good manga. I wanna know what happened with Kaneki and Yukio! The fact I made that connection surprises me....I should write poetry-actually nope, that's a very bad idea.

'It'd help if I knew where he put it....but that defies the point so...uh....screw that.' I thought, rummaging through bricks until I heard a metal clang.

I jolted, unburying the metal object, which indeed was my sword. Finally! I grabbed it and this time I unsheathed it to check if this was actually the correct one. I burst into blue flames and I immediately knew this was the Correct one. Mission accomplished!

'That saves me another lecture!' I thought, running out of the rubbish as I sprinted back to where Kaneki and Yukio were, once I sheathed my sword.

Once I had reached them, Yukio had just exterminated the demon and now the ghoul was back to normal, as he talked with Kaneki for a short while.

"Yukio..!" I called, almost tripping as I skidded to a halt in front of him.

"How many times do I have to get you out of trouble...?!" Yukio facepalmed, he seemed unamused.

"Eheh....Sorry, But more importantly did you-" Yukio cut me off, how rude.

"Yes I saw it all....Kaneki is a ghoul..." Yukio muttered, as a glare covered his glasses.

"....yeah...." I awkwardly said the first thing that came out of my mouth.

"A-am I gonna h-have to...leave true cross academy..." Kaneki randomly butt into the conversation, he seemed scared.

Yukio gave a faint smirk, shaking his head no, "Nope! We exterminate demons not you Ghouls."

I saw a faint smile of relief come across Kaneki's face, as he turned back to the blonde haired ghoul to start another conversation. Now that I noticed it....the blonde haired guy seemed on edge.

"This place is going to be eradicated right in the morning tomorrow, so let's head back before it all crumbles..." Yukio announced, starting to lead the way out of the giant arena building.

I turned back towards Kaneki and the blonde haired dude, they both were giving each other personal space, while not making eye contact. I shrugged and walked beside Kaneki, as we started to head back. I put my hand on Kaneki's shoulder.

"Hey...you know I'm really glad I met you, it's been great..!" I gave a smile, exposing my demon fangs.

Kaneki gave a small smile, "T-thanks...you're probably one of the greatest friend's I've ever had, after all you've done....I owe you my life.."

"There's the happy face I wanted to see...!" I gave a cheerful tone, as my demon tail wagged happily, we all just continued to reach our destination.
