He took a deep breath as they landed in the forest that he hadn't seen for so long. Kai clutched his hand and smiled at him encouragingly, and Frey gulped. Myles was in Canada, assisting Aea on their journey to get to a place they could be safely looked after, so it was just the couple to face the foreign country, or, for Frey, his native land.

What was the chance that he'd remember anything about this place? How long had it been, almost three years? Was there a guarantee that Ágúst would still live here? Had his parents moved away by now, whisking Ágúst and all his sports enthusiasm away from the small town?

"Stop asking yourself questions and go and find out for yourself," Kai chastised, knowing the way his boyfriend's mind worked.

"I just...they might hate me," Frey bit his lip nervously.

"Frey, how much have you told me about these people? From what you've told me, I reckon they'll welcome you back with open arms - you seemed to be rather popular around here, not that I'm surprised."

"Are you sure?" Still uncertain, Frey lifted a hand up to his mouth to bite his nails - Kai took it into his other hand and nodded with conviction, "They'll love it."

Frey and Kai took their time working their way through the forest, Frey taking the time to show Kai every detail that he loved about his hometown wood, a place he had spent a lot of time figuring out what was happening. That and the bathroom, of course.

"They should be finishing their day at school in five minutes," Frey instructed, glancing at his first watch which had always been set to Icelandic time even after he left.

"Awesome," Kai commented, taking in the school as they emerged from the forest and entered the town.

A loud bell rung, and students began to flood out. Frey gulped as he started to recognise them, all taller and older looking than they had been when he had left them. There were odd glances towards him from the younger students who clearly had no idea why there were teenagers standing outside their school who they obviously didn't recognise. He was kind of relived that they didn't recognise him - Frey wanted an element of privacy. But all it would take would be one sibling who had heard enough about Frey from their elder brother or sister to deduce exactly who he was and then the mask of privacy would fall away.

Slowly the elder students started to trickle out and Frey felt the nervousness build up inside him as the group of nerds he had befriended came out because after them it had always been Ágúst and so he looked down because he didn't want to see and-

"Errr...Frey?" Kai asked worriedly.

"Hmm?" Frey made a pattern with his foot.

"I think, I think it might be Ágúst who's walking towards us now."

"Yeah maybe," continuing to swirl the gravel around with his feet, he refused to look up and confirm Kai's suspicions.

"Err, Frey, he looks really angry."

"He has the right to be angry, if it is Ágúst."

"No but he looks really angry."

Frey chose not to comment on this and Ágúst apparently broke into a run.

"Komdu hingað svo ég geti kýkt þig í andlitið, frændi!" (Come here so I can punch you in the face, moron!)

Kai pointed to himself or to Frey and Ágúst didn't stop to elucidate himself, lunging for Kai and wrapping his hands around his neck, far worse than the threat he had originally given (not that Kai would have understood it anyway). Clearly, Ágúst was thinking red and finally, as Kai began to choke, Frey looked up to see his best friend hissing in Icelandic at his boyfriend.
