Soon one hour slipped into two, two into three, three into four - until finally, you had all arrived at Camp Crystal Lake. Gravel crunched beneath the truck's wheels, the vehicle slowly moving down the dirt road as you stifled a yawn. The journey had taken most of the afternoon, causing you to grow weary and tired. Fortunately, Kathy and Stephanie hadn't given you much grief either - the two girls listening to music and sleeping most of the time. The truck pulled up near one of the larger cabins, the rustic design being appreciated by you.

"Ugh, these cabins look even more lame than the last ones we stayed in." Stephanie pulled the earbud out of her left ear and stared at the building, disgruntled.

"This is a rural area, Steph. And besides, we change campsites every trip - it's not going to look like a shopping mall." Jon rolled his eyes and turned the engine off, opening the driver door a second later.

"It could totally use some TLC." Kathy jumped in as she shuddered - her shoes getting stained with dirt.

"I think it's beautiful." You spoke in a gentle tone, looking around the woodland area and smiling.

The girls ignored your remark and chatted amongst themselves, wanting a reaction out of you. "Say Kathy, when do you think the others will get here?" Stephanie grabbed her large bag and hoisted it over her shoulder, bumping into you on purpose.

"Not sure. Hopefully soon, else we'll be stuck with the loner and her stiff attitude." Kathy's eyes glinted evilly as she responded to her friend - their words being hurtful.

"Knock it off, you two. And Luke, wake the fuck up." Jon came to your defence whilst he shook Luke's drunken form.

"Fucking make me." Luke muttered moodily.

"Fine. Stay there. C'mon everyone, let's go." Jon grabbed his bag from the back and you took your suitcase out, all of you ready to go.

You quietly followed, a little embarrassed by the girls' words and feeling timid. But it was too late to turn back and go home now. And hey, it was incredibly pretty here. Birds were chirping, the sun was beaming down, and the lake was a gorgeous, glittering reflection of light. The thick foliage of the forest created a mysterious yet lovely effect, the different shades of green ranging from a dark basil to a light chartreuse colour. This whole campsite left you in awe - the beauty of nature brightening your day significantly. You could go for relaxing walks, produce drawings of the lake, or even swim in it if you felt bold enough.

"Which one's my cabin? Like...where do I go?" You asked Jon in a nervous tone, shifting your position awkwardly.

"Your cabin is the one over there, closest to the forest." He pointed towards the furthest one, a few trees growing around the cabin and partly hiding it from view. A slightly-concealed cabin...you actually liked the sound of that.

"Right. Guess I'll go unpack." You gave a sheepish smile and left the group, feeling a bit more confident without the catty girls.

Your cabin was a sweet-looking log one; with two wide widows and a burgundy door between them. Bushes lined the gravel path, two wooden steps leading towards the entrance as the light above the door flickered. Guess it was almost evening, which would explain the flickering. You pushed open the door and entered the room, definitely liking the interior. It was way too big, but you didn't really mind. Actually, it was kinda nice. To your right was a wooden table, four chairs dotted around it. There was a piano and stool against the wall - exciting you because you knew how to play.
