Your eyes widened slightly, the beautiful view in front of you being both breathtaking and brilliant. It was a small, enclosed area - filled to the brim with bewitching wildflowers and surrounded by trees. Bluebells, dog roses, fox gloves, honeysuckle...the list went on and on as you kept spotting different shades of petals. The sunlight kept sifting between the leaves, causing the shadows to dance and creating a dazzling light effect over the serene space. The overload of fear and stress literally melted away, the natural beauty of nature calming you down more than anything.
"This is...This is beautiful." You spoke in a hushed tone, "I didn't know there was a place like this off-trail." He gave you a gentle nod, dropping his machete as the man also enjoyed the wonderful wildflowers.
"Do you come here often?" You shifted from foot-to-foot awkwardly, pleased once he'd dropped the weapon.
Now you didn't feel as threatened. Although... You flinched when you remembered how he'd snapped Stephanie's skull, the killer confused by your nervous movement. He dipped his head again, implying that he often came here. But who wouldn't come here often? The rare loveliness was to die for. The irony of your unintentional pun made you feel a little uncomfortable; your eyes gazing at he ground to avoid looking at him. The man's rough hand tugged at your jacket's sleeve, a curious glint in his eye whilst he waited for your attention. Wonder what he wanted...?
"I-Is there something you need-?" You stammered slightly, unsettled as you locked eyes with him again.
The killer pointed at you, his finger poking the middle of your cleavage and causing your cheeks to flush red. This was like an unnerving game of charades. "W...What about me...? Like...my name?" You guessed the correct answer first-time and he nodded, staring at you with hopeful eyes. He really wanted to know...?
"(Y/n)...My name is (Y/n)." You told him and looked away, flustered by the conversational topic. The man patted your head, ruffling your hair as he obviously liked your name.
"(Y...Y.../n...n)...?" He repeated - sounding like he was a bit...surprised? Why on Earth...?
"P...Pr...et...ty..." The man cleared this throat and tried again, the sound of his voice making you jump. "Pr...e...tt...y... n...na...me..." He rumbled in a gruff tone; complimenting you whilst petting your hair.
"H-Hey-! I'm not a dog-!" You stuttered in embarrassment, reaching out to defend your hair and feeling shy. He clasped your hand before you could push the other one off, giving it a soft squeeze and rubbing it against the side of his face.
"D...Do you have a name...?" You wondered, your heart pounding with anxiety as you waited to pull your hand back.
The masked male dipped his head, releasing your hand and looking a bit dismayed due to his decision. "J...Jas..." He must've not used his voice in a while, because he growled in frustration after having trouble speaking.
"Jas...?" You tentatively repeated.
He shook his head, snatching the machete up once more before swinging it back-and-forth angrily. What names began with Jas? Suddenly you recalled the name on that stray dog's collar, realising what his name was. "Is... Is your name...Jason?" You tried to help and his fury faded, the man giving a vigorous nod of confirmation.
"Sounds like Jason Voorhees."
"What, the old legend?"
"Yeah. The story says he died, but people say he survived the drowning. Maybe it was him wandering around.""Are you..." You were so stunned by your recollection that you had to take a moment, fear clogging your throat, "Are you...Jason Voorhees?" You faced the machete-holding male with fright, taking a step back as alarm trickled back into your system.
