I groaned loudly as I woke up In my cell, I looked around and frowned as I realised that everything was not just a bad dream.
"You alright love?" I heard the familiar English accent from the cell across from me.
I looked over and gave Enzo a slight smile. I had loved Enzo for a long time now, he cared about me too, I knew that much. However did he love me? I don't think so. I knew everything about Enzo, he was an open book. Me on the other hand, I was more of a closed book, I didn't want people getting attached to me. I was a ripper, my humanity was constantly on and off and I didn't want to risk hurting anyone.
"I'm okay, just wish he'd stay away from my damn eyes." I told him as I sat up against the cell wall.
"I'm sorry." He shook his head as he frowned. "I would have taken your place in second if I could have."
"Hey, don't apologise. You've suffered way longer than me." I gave him a soft smile.
Our conversation was soon cut short as Dr. Wes Maxfield waltzed in, a large smile on his face.
"Ah 32155, You'll be coming with me." He told me as vervain gas started pouring in through the vents in my cell, making me extremely drowsy.
"No! No, take me." Enzo pleaded, grabbing the bars of his cell.
"Oh, don't worry I'm coming back for you."
***
"Ellie, Enzo, wake up." I heard Dr. Wes as I slowly opened my eyes.
We were in an unfamiliar room, it looked as if it had been set on fire at one point.
Wes came over and injected Enzo and I with something, before untying our restraints.
"When was the last time you guys were out in civilisation?" Wes asked as he injected the syringe into my neck.
"What is that?" I questioned, eyeing the syringe.
"That is my insurance policy." He smiled holing it up. "This insures that you'll come back, without the antidote you will both die. I'm giving you two the day off, you have an old friend to catch up with." Wes told us as he handed us a blood bag each.
***
"What did he mean an old friend?" I asked Enzo as we walked down the halls of Whitmore college. Wes had told us to go to his classroom and make sure some kid Aaron was safe.
"Remember, I told you there was a guy who used to live in the cell next to me?" Enzo questioned and I simply nodded. "He is the one holding Aaron captive."
"Oh" I nodded, unsure of how this was going to go down.
Enzo and I made our way into the classroom, I sat on the windowsill near the back as Enzo made himself comfortable in a chair.
I looked over to see the door opening and three men walking in, two of which were familiar causing my jaw to drop.
"21051." Enzo called out, gaining their attention.
"Enzo?" Damon questioned in disbelief.
"Damon... Stefan." I barely whispered as tears rolled down my cheeks, causing all heads to snap towards me.
Enzo gave me a confused look as he walked toward me. "You know them?"
I nodded rapidly as I made my way towards them. "They're my brothers."
"Eleanor... Is that you?" My twin brother, Stefan asked as he examined me.
"It's me." I smiled as he hugged me tightly.
