"We need strawberries, eggs, milk and... Oh, candles!" Bonnie read out the shopping list as her Damon and I walked through the supermarket.

"I know it's been a while, but you couldn't do magic as an anchor. So i'm curious what momentary laps of reason makes you think you can do it now?" Damon questioned Bonnie as he pushed the cart down the isle.

"You know, when all this started, you sucked at making pancakes and now they're somewhat edible." Bonnie fired back and I let out a small laugh, causing Damon to glare.

"Milk." I called out as we were passing it, Damon grabbed it and placed it in the cart before I continued talking. "Look Damon we have proof that we're not alone, so maybe you could try having a little hope."

"Proof?" He questioned, rolling his eyes. "This mysteriously filled in crossword which could have easily been one of you, is your proof?"

"I didn't fill it in, Damon!" Bonnie groaned, defending herself.

"No, you don't know you filled it in." Damon shot back. "You also don't know that you talk in your sleep!"

"Eggs!" I called out, letting Bonnie know to grab them.

"What are you saying?" Bonnie questioned as she placed the eggs in the cart. "That I sleep-crossword?"

"I'm saying it makes more sense than the alternative." Damon told her as he proceeded to push the cart.

"I get what you're doing Damon." I called out from behind him, causing him to stop.

"What am I doing?" He questioned, narrowing his eyes.

"You refuse to have hope that you'll see Elena again so you don't have to be disappointed." I told him with a small smile. "I know you Damon, and I know that you'll do anything to protect yourself from being hurt."

"I refuse to have hope because there is nothing to hope for!" He quickly argued.

"Pork rinds." Bonnie said and I gave her a confused look.

"Not on the list, and ew." Damon said, snatching the list from Bonnie's hand.

"No Damon. There were pork rinds here, on this shelf!" Bonnie told us and we both gave each other the same confused look. "There have been pork rinds here on every trip we've had for the past four months!"

Before either of us could say anything, merry-go-round music began playing from outside.

"What the hell is that?" I asked before Bonnie began walking outside.

Damon and I quickly followed her outside the supermarket and looked over to see a small child's ride had been activated.

"Hear that guys? That's what hope sounds like."

"It's got to be a short, faulty wiring or something." Damon spoke up after investigating the small merry-go-round.

"Or maybe someone actually put a quarter in it and turned it on." I suggested, shrugging my shoulders.

"You know, I'm a little confused with all this misplaced hope." Damon sighed. "Let's say someone else is here. How do you know we're gonna get out?"

"Well... You say this is your hell, right?" Bonnie asked, walking closer to Damon. "If there's someone else here, that means it's not your hell. And if it's not your hell that means grams put us here and if grams put us here, there's a way out."

"That's a hell of a logic knot you've tied there Bon." I spoke up.

"Thank you." She smiled, sarcastically. "So now that we've properly placed our hope, lets play a game. When we get out what's the first thing you're going to tell Elena?"

Damon thought for a second before speaking up. "Sorry I killed Bonnie, but she was the most annoying person in the world. She wouldn't shut up, she just kept talking and talking." He began walking through the parking lot before continuing to speak. "I mean, it's a wonder I made it as long as I did. But here's the thing, I think it's better this way. She didn't have magic, she was useless."

"Damon!" I called out, grabbing his arm.

"What?" He groaned, turning around.

I nodded my head to the side, where his car was.

"That's my car. That's my car!" He shouted beginning to get excited.

Damon jumped in his car and began making race-car noises, like a child.

"Okay, you guys have fun. I need a drink." I smiled before leaving them.

ENZOS POV

For some blasted reason I was at a college party with Caroline. We were at a large lake and there was a lot of drunk people, the perfect place for a snack.

Caroline had demanded that I go and get some ice and so here I find myself walking through the woods with two large bags of ice.

As I was walking I began hearing a strange noise, I quickly held one of the ice bags up, blocking a wooden stake that came flying towards my heart.

"That was Caroline's ice." I groaned, throwing the bag to the ground.

"Yeah, well, you'll be dead, so I think she'll let you off the hook." Stefan told me, stepping out of the trees.

He ran towards me, causing me to knock him to the ground. "I don't want to kill you, Stefan. Ellie would never forgive me." I saw someone coming up behind Stefan, with a stake gun. I quickly picked up the stake Stefan had previously tried to kill me with. I threw it toward the guy, killing him instantly.

"So why don't we put a pin in our little spat till this all gets sorted, eh?" I spoke up as Stefan bent down and grabbed the stake gun.

"No thanks." Stefan smiled as he aimed the gun at me.

"You've got to be bloody kidding me. I just saved your life." I shook my head at the imbecile.

"Yeah... So you can give me a lifetime of misery." Stefan fired back as he loaded the gun.

"Stefan!" Caroline yelled, standing in front of me.

"Good news, Caroline!" I called out. "I thwarted a vampire hunter. Bad news, Stefan has become a vampire hunter."

"Stefan, think about what you're doing. Ellie would never forgive you for this and neither would Damon." Caroline tried to convince him.

"They're dead Caroline!" Stefan shouted. He looked down, shaking his head before walking off.

"What the hell was that about?" Caroline questioned, turning to face me.

ELLIES POV

After sitting in the grill, drowning myself in alcohol I decided it was time to go home.

I walked into my house, stopping in my tracks when I saw someone I didn't recognise, tied to a chair.

"Who the hell is that?" I questioned Bonnie and Damon as I walked further into the house.

"This is Kai." Damon told me. "He knows how to get us out of here."
