Mariya Hill is the bastard daughter of a whore. When she was eighteen her mother tried to kill her using poison. The mother however, bought the incorrect poison and ended up simply blinding her daughter instead of killing her. Lord Tyrion had Mariya's mother banished from the Westerlands and would have had her sent to the Wall if she were a man. Mariya has since then found herself being exceptionally kind to the man that helped her without knowing her. Tyrion had frequented the whorehouse where she worked when she could still see, but she had never seen or met him. It wasn't until after the events that she actually met him face to face, and by then, she couldn't see him. So she is the only person in the world who doesn't know what the Imp of Lannister looks like. And honestly, she doesn't care. He is a sweet man who saved her life. Why should she care what he looks like?
