Cole was startled awake by a scream. He looked in the direction it came from and saw a bush rustling. He stepped forward to investigate when a bunny jumped out, his bunny. Jay jumped at him and clung to him, frightened. Cole was about to question him, when the wolves crept out from the shadows. He growled at them and held tightly onto his boyfriend. They crept closer to them and Cole's grip tightened. He stepped back with every step they took, eventually leading to the couple being pushed up against a tree. Jay buried his face in Cole's chest to avoid looking at the incoming threat. Once the wolves were close enough, they stopped. "What do you want?" They looked at each other and smiled. "Your little friend. We need something to add to our... banquet." One of them came closer and Jay squeaked. Cole growled at them and tried to think of another way out. But there was none. It reached forward to grab him but Cole kicked him away. He used his injured foot but he couldn't care less about the pain now, he had a mission, to get Jay out of the danger. He quickly made a decision, "Make sure to grab onto something." Before Jay could understand what he meant, he was thrown into the air. He finally understood what the bear meant when he started falling towards a tree branch. He grabbed onto it and pulled himself on. He looked down and gave his boyfriend a thumbs up. Cole smiled knowing that his lover was safe. The wolves growled and prowled towards the bear, teeth bared, claws sharp. They both raised their claws to strike when they were knocked over by a flying object. It was too fast for him to recognize what it really was. When it slowed down, he realised that it was Zane. The falcon landed on the branch where Jay was. The bunny was willing to welcome back his friend but was too scared to let go of the branch he was holding on to. The wolves looked up at the branch, angry looks on their faces. One pounced at Cole, who jumped out of the way and fought it off. The other wolf jumped at the tree and began climbing. Jay and Zane looked at each other, both worried and scared. Jay took a deep breath, "Zane, catch me." The bird could barely comprehend what his friend had said before he jumped at him. Zane quickly grabbed him with his claws and flew higher. The wolf watched from the tree and jumped after them and missed. They fell to the ground and died on impact, Zane tightened his grip on Jay, now scared of dropping him. The other wolf watched as their comrade fell. Cole took the opportunity and knocked them down. The wolf cried in surprise and went to lash out at the bear, but he had beat them to it and held them down. They struggled against his grip but it lead to nothing. They heard the thud of a body hitting the floor and with newfound determination, pushed the bear off of them self and rushed over to their sibling. They weren't moving and they wasn't breathing, the tears rose in their eyes as they realised that their sibling wasn't coming back. The wolf looked upwards and saw the bunny and falcon. They had done this, they had killed them, they were going to pay. They growled and picked up their sibling, and stalked off. As soon as the wolves were gone, Nya and Lloyd came out of hiding, both helping Kai to walk. The male fox could barely hold himself up and his injuries were more than likely the cause of that. Once the coast was clear, Zane flew down and let go of Jay. The reunited group had a group hug and once they parted they returned home, all of them exhausted. They promised to explain everything once they had woken. Zane and Nya bandaged up Kai and took him to bed. Lloyd went off to his own room and Cole and Jay cuddled together on the sofa.
