They woke up and Zane handed out breakfast. As soon as everyone had eaten they packed up their tents and set off. It felt weird for them to be walking on two legs and not four. It took Zane a while to get used to not being able to fly. And Jay a while to get used to not being able to jump as far or high. But they got through the forest. They noticed that as they neared their tree house that it had suddenly gotten hotter. They soon found out why. Their beloved tree house was burning. The six of them stood there in complete shock as they watched their home turn to ashes. Suddenly a flaming piece fell from the house. They all jumped back, but the fire spread from that plank of wood to another tree. The fire was spreading through the trees. The group ran to the outside of the forest, barely escaping the fire. "Now what? We have no home." "I have an idea." "Shoot." "You guys remember my 'owner'. Well he had a younger brother who was against harming animals. Maybe we could go live with him." "We have nothing better. So lets go. You do know where he lives, right?" "Yeah, I'm pretty sure I can remember." They travelled a long way and they weren't even close yet. They were all tired and hungry but they couldn't eat the meat they carried with them because it was dangerous for humans to eat raw meat. And they weren't sure if the berries were poisonous for humans or not. So they couldn't risk it. Cole picked up Jay and gave him a piggy-back ride, letting him take a nap. Zane offered Kai a piggy-back ride, but he refused it and picked Zane up bridal style instead. He tried to stay awake but he eventually drifted off. "Guys, we need to stop and rest." "Where though? We haven't got anywhere to rest." They were standing in the middle of a field. "We'll be right out in the open. Anyone could come up to us and kill us and we couldn't do anything. We can't afford to rest. Not yet." They carried on going, until they came to a house on a hill. "I think this is the place." They also noticed a ship at the bottom of the hill. The moon was shining down on them as they arrived at the house. Lloyd knocked on the door and waited for the door to open. But it didn't. "Hello?" The four of them jumped. An old man with a white beard stood behind them. "What are you doing here?" "We're are looking for Wu. The brother of Garmadon." "Come with me." The old man walked down the hill and onto the ship. They waited off of the ship and glanced at each other. "What are you waiting for? You may come onto my ship." "I'm sorry sir but we really need to find Wu. If you can tell us where he is well leave you be." "Young people nowadays are so impatient. I am Sensei Wu. May I ask why you were looking for me?" "Um well, it's kinda complicated. Can we explain everything to you in the morning? We've been travelling for hours and we haven't eaten or slept since we started." "Of course, please use the spare bedrooms. There is one for the young lady and another for the five boys." "Thank you. Come on guys." The four of them walked to their rooms. Nya went into the room by herself and the boys went into their new room. Kai placed Zane on the bottom of one of the bunk beds and climbed onto the one above him. Cole placed Jay on the top of another bunk bed and got onto the bottom bunk. Lloyd took the single bed.
The next day they woke up around midday. Wu came in to wake them up. "Up you get boys!" He banged a gong to wake them fully. All five of them fell out of bed. "Glad to see you all awake. Now you can tell me your story over breakfast. Misako has made pancakes." They followed Wu to the kitchen. There they saw a woman with grey and white hair, placing plates on a table. "Misako, I would like you to meet our new guests." The six of them sat down around the table. "So please tell me your 'complicated' story." "Ok, well we aren't actually human. We were animals but, um, things happened and we became human." Lloyd glanced over to Jay. "It seems as if that is a sensitive subject, so I will not push. But I must ask, how do you know me if you were animals?" "Before I met these guys I was dog and I belonged to Garmadon but I ran away after he tried to force me to kill animals. But I know you through him." "So I take it, you have no family?" "Yeah." "Then how would you like to become a part of my family?" "Really?" "Yes. If you are willing to." "Oh my God. Thank you!" "Now how about breakfast?" After breakfast they all introduced themselves and spent time talking about what it was like being animals. Wu and Misako taught them many things to being human, things like what they can and can't do. They thought about sending the kids to school but thought against it, since they could easily become bullied because of how different they are from everyone else. So they chose to home school them. The family of 8 were very happy aboard the ship. Yes it was crowded, but they wouldn't have it any other way.
