In the morning the group woke up but something felt off. Zane checked over Kai, who was still resting, he gave him a kiss and went to make breakfast. Cole rolled over to hold his lover close when he was greeted by an empty bed, he looked and sure enough, it was empty. He shot out of bed and ran into the living room. Zane poked his head out of the kitchen, confused. He turned off the oven and approached to the increasingly worried bear. "Cole what-" "Have you seen Jay?" "What do you mean? He wasn't with you?" "No, I woke up and he wasn't there." "I'll go and ask Nya and Lloyd to see if they've any idea where he could've gone. Stay here and calm down, he'll be ok." Zane walked off to their rooms and knocked on Nya's door, but there was no reply. He pushed on the door and it opened, which was unusual. Nya always kept her door locked unless she was ill. He poked his head through the doorway and saw an empty room. He felt a pit in his stomach arise. Something definitely was wrong. He sped up as he went to check on Lloyd, he knocked once again. No reply. He pushed open the door again. Empty room. Zane's breathing sped up, something was wrong, something was terribly wrong. He flew back to Cole, who was still trying to calm himself down. Seeing the panic on Zane's face made him panic more. "What... What is it?" "I can't find anyone! Both of their rooms are empty! What do we do?!? They could be hurt or worse or-" "Zane! Please we need to calm down and think. Where would they go?" "I...I don't know..." "Think Zane. Think!" He concentrated on his thoughts and forgot everything around him, "They may have gone to fight the wolf. We need to go after them." "But what about Kai?" Zane froze, he couldn't leave his defenseless boyfriend on his own. What kind of boyfriend would he be then? Suddenly they heard footsteps behind them. They turned hoping for it to be Nya or Lloyd but to their surprise it was Kai. "Kai?!? What are you doing out of bed? You need to rest." "I want to help. The others are missing, I can't wait here and be useless." "But you aren't-" "I don't care, I'm coming." He glared at the both of them, they looked at each other and caved. Cole suggested carrying him on his back while walking and Kai reluctantly agreed after a death glare from Zane. They went down the slide and walked off into the forest, determination in their eyes.
The group of three were getting close to their destination, they could tell by the groups of bones. Jay hid behind the other two, clearly unsettled by the scene around them. They walked slower now, being twice as careful now that they were in dangerous territory. Thankfully they had stopped on the way to rest and that now it was daytime. They stuck close to each other, making sure that no one had gotten lost. They looked up and saw a cave in the mountain side, bones scattering the entrance. They began climbing up the pathway that lead to the cave entrance, when a bone cracked behind them. Jay squeaked and Lloyd and Nya got into defensive stances. The saw the wolf from before standing there. "Hello. I believe you were not invited to my home. So why are you here?" It prowled closer and Nya and Lloyd growled, Jay stopped freaking out and stood defensively. He began walking around them, eyeing them up and down, smiling to himself. "Aren't two of you my escaped prisoners?" They glared at the wolf. They smiled back, "Where are your friends?" "Where is yours?" Nya decided to taunt them. The wolf paused, "You may have killed my sibling, but I have many more friends." As if on queue, a whole pack of Wolves appeared behind the group of three. "Once they heard about what you did, they were willing to help me make you pay. Starting with their murderer." All of the packs eyes were on Jay. The bunny's ears drooped, as he tried to hide behind his friends. The pack advanced on the group. The three of them looked between each other, realising they had made a big mistake. "You killed him, you murdered my brother! So it's only fair to give you the same treatment." The leader glanced between the pack and gave a signal. The three huddled together, desperately trying protect each other. The entire pack suddenly pounced, scratching and snapping at the trio.
They had reached the edge where they had escaped, they stayed close and listened out for anything that could be related to their missing friends. They came across piles and piles of bones. They all flinched at the scene before them. They quickly walked past and proceeded onwards. Every step they took was very cautious, all three of them were fully aware. They paused for a moment and listened. They could hear fighting in the distance. "Oh God, I hope that's not them. Let's check it out." Kai slid off of Cole's back and they prowled towards the fighting. They reached a mountain and saw a cave. And sure enough they could see a pack of wolves attacking something. They went to approach the fighters to investigate, when they saw something that they didn't want to see.
They were barely managing to fight them off. The three of them had been separated during the fight, and were now fighting solo. Nya was surrounded and was unaware of how close she was to the edge, and she was now backing up, trying to get some space between her and her enemies. But she backed up to far and her back legs slipped off the edge. She screamed in fear and surprise. Lloyd and Jay heard her screams and tried to get to her. But the wolves blocked their paths. Nya tried to pull herself back up, but the wolves wouldn't allow it. Her grip on the rocks was loosening and she had no one to help her. The fall was pretty high up too. She closed her eyes, begging for a miracle. But none came. The floor gave way under her paws and she fell. She screamed in fear, knowing what was going to happen next. She braced herself for impact but it never came. She had landed on something soft, she quickly got up and saw she had landed on her brother. Nya held him close and cried, still in shock. Kai hugged her tightly and rubbed her back. Jay and Lloyd were panicking because they couldn't see that Nya was safe as the wolves were blocking their view. In their desperation to keep her safe, they pushed through the pack and to the edge where she had fell and saw that she was safe in her brother's arms. They both let out a sigh of relief before they realised that they still had a lot of fighting to do. Suddenly something hit Lloyd really hard and he nearly blacked out, thankfully Jay had seen this and came to his friend's aid and caught him before he could hit the ground. It dawned on Jay that he was the last one standing and that he was hugely outnumbered. He considered jumping off with Lloyd but he didn't know if they would catch them or not. He decided to take that risk. He called down to the others and they saw him, holding a barely conscious Lloyd. They watched as he threw Lloyd down to them, Cole ran forward and caught the golden retriever. He then set him down and opened his arms to catch the bunny. Jay jumped but then something pulled him back. He cried for help as he realised that he couldn't escape their grip. His boyfriend's face was filled with worry and fear as he watched the love of his life get taken away from him. "This is what happens when you mess with us!" The wolf raised it's paw to strike and smiled as she saw the fear in the group's eyes. She struck the bunny, who whimpered in pain, and watched as the bear began running towards her location. The falcon flew at her, desperation in his eyes. She raised her paw again and he froze. "Don't come closer. I won't hesitate to do it again." He stayed put, refusing to leave his friend. Suddenly she was knocked down by the bear. The rest of the pack saw this and charged at him. She pulled herself off of the ground and picked up the bunny who was in a heap on the floor. She snuck off with him and once she was out of sight she ran. She ran so far away and didn't look back.
