Cole let the tears fall, no, this couldn't be real, he couldn't be dead!?! ...Could he? He had tried so hard... all for it to fail. His entire life, was now dead in front of him. He hugged his bunny as his cried into his shoulder. He was internally begging for Jay to wake up, for it all to have been a prank. But minutes ticked by. And he still didn't wake up. The others were in the room with him, they were talking but he couldn't hear them. He didn't want to hear their lies. He carried his love into their- his room, and laid him down on the bed. He grabbed a few bandages and wrapped up the marks. He then pulled the blanket over him, so that it seemed as if he was sleeping. He gave Jay one last kiss and turned his back and walked away. He entered back into the living room and his friend's eyes fell on him. "Cole...? What happened?" The bear stayed silent, awful memories resurfacing. Zane approached him, and placed a comforting wing on his shoulder, "Cole, we need to know, please tell us what happened." He glanced at his friends. He felt the tears in his eyes. "I... don't know where to start..." After a while of explaining, he finished the story. "And how is he?" He glanced away to stare at the floor, trying to hide his tears. The group looked among themselves and nodded. Kai quickly stood up and made up an excuse, "I need to go to the bathroom. Be right back." He rushed out of the room and waited for the others to distract Cole. Once they had done that, he headed to Jay's and Cole's room. He quietly knocked on the door, expecting an answer. But he didn't get one. He gently pushed the door open and saw a small bundle under the blankets. "Jay, you awake?" No reply. "Jay?" He approached the 'sleeping' bunny, "Jay, get up! This isn't funny!" He shook the bunny, and even then he got no reply. Kai waited in silence for his friend to wake up. But he couldn't help but notice how quiet it was in the room. He held his breath for a few seconds and he heard nothing. He quickly checked Jay's heartbeat. But he didn't hear anything. He checked his pulse. There was nothing. He screamed in sorrow and anger. Suddenly the door swung open. "Kai?!? Kai, what's wrong?" His sister hugged him as he started crying. "He's gone. Jay's... gone." "W-What...? No, Kai... It's not true..." His sister went to go and see for herself but he pulled her back down. "You don't want to." Cole came running in and saw the twins on the floor, one in tears and the other holding them back. "Guys...I didn't want you to find out this way...I couldn't..." He let out a sob, "I couldn't save him!" The bear began crying, hard. The other two watched on, unsure of how to comfort him. They both got up and hugged him. They knew it was going to be hard but they had to keep going. Lloyd and Zane poked their heads round the door, both were concerned. First they heard a scream and then shouting. Zane came up behind them and joined in on the hug. Lloyd was still unsure where he stood in the friendship. He felt a bit like a third wheel. The four of them looked back at him and opened their arms, welcoming him into the group hug. He ran into their arms and held onto all of them. "What are we going to do?" "I don't know...but we have to stick together." "I have an idea. There was an old myth, a way to bring somebody back to life. I remember my...owner telling the story multiple times. Maybe it's real." "Lloyd. Tell us the story and leave nothing out." They released the hug and all eyes landed on Lloyd. "Ok, so the story's about twins whose mother had recently passed away. They missed her so much, their father could barely look after them and was planning on giving away one of the twins. So they ran away together into a forest and at the edge of the forest there was a mountain. They climbed up it and at the peak they found a small cave, barely big enough for them to crawl through. Inside that cave they found a fountain. They thought it looked beautiful and chose to make it their mother's resting ground, rather than the graveyard they had put her in. They both returned to the graveyard and brought their mother to the mountain peak. They buried her right next to the fountain and as they were going to leave, some water seeped through to her resting place and she woke up. The mother stayed alive for a long time, until she was an old lady. Anyway, what I was thinking was, that if it's real and it works, then why don't we take Jay there?" The others stayed silent and Lloyd thought that they thought he was an idea. "That might actually work...We can try it." Lloyd smiled, as the other three nodded in agreement. "I have a question actually." Lloyd nodded, signalling for the falcon to carry on. "How long had the mother been dead for in the story? I was just thinking, is there a certain time limit." "Um, it was never mentioned how long she was dead for, but I guess it must have been a few days since she was buried." Zane nodded, "Alright then, I recommend that we all get some rest, so we are all ready for the long journey ahead of us." The group parted and went to their rooms to rest, apart from Cole. He couldn't enter the room, even sleep, knowing that his boyfriend was gone. He left the room and went to the living room. He laid down on the couch and shut his eyes, at some point during the night he fell into a dreamless sleep.
