faint

he had talked to her.

she had almost fainted right there in the hall.

he had touched her shoulder.

his touch was like a summer breeze; a soft caress on a surface that hadn't been loved in eternity.

she broke her gaze from his beautiful eyes, swayed a little bit, and smiled a bit more. he tentatively raised the corners of his mouth in response, and reached for her shoulder again

just to push her out of the way with a pleading look in his eyes.

she was broken again.

she thought she could faint again, this time out of pure sadness and misery.

a feeling like this had not yet consumed her even in the late nights crying over how he had never loved her and never will.

she turned away and started to walk to her next class.

she tried to breathe and push it down but she couldn't.

she tried to rein a tear back in to her eye but it dropped down her face and onto her shirt that was too big for her.

it dropped on her small chest and sank into the fabric, taking all of her lost dreams with it.

was he worth it?

she tried to make it seem like he wasn't but every time she blocked his face out of her mind it would come back like a fugitive escaping out of its bars and make her realize she loved him with all of her heart and she would never stop.

she wondered why he had led her on if he was just going to ignore her like she wasn't even there.

she wondered what caused him to run away.

she wondered everything about him as she turned around, her arms crossed so harshly into her stomach that she almost couldn't breathe.

she turned around and saw him with his arm around the blonde girl and her heart crumbled, just to be rebuilt again when his magnificent emerald eyes met hers.

she saw his mouth move and form those words.

she felt her heart burst as she read his lips.

she felt herself be blown away on the wind, her steps as light as a feather.

she felt herself sit down in her next class, still thinking of his perfect lips speaking to her again.

her.

-

amy had shown up at the complete wrong time.

he was just about to ask her her name. he had seen her smile that beautiful smile that he had only seen once before. he had seen the hurt in her eyes as he pushed her away.

he had seen amy's look of contempt burning straight into the tall girl's back as she hurried away, hunched over. he could practically feel waves of sadness washing over her as she seemed to curl into herself, making herself seem so small, when in reality, she was so beautiful tall.

"she's so disgusting. she should stay away from you... doesn't she know you're mine?" amy cooed at him and rubbed her hand up and down his arm. he just nodded, gave a slight unemotional smile and started walking in her direction.

he was about to catch up to her when amy caught up to him and grabbed his arm once again and pulled him close. she rested her head on his forearm, and he wanted anything but.

she was getting further and further away from him when suddenly she stopped and turned around.

her warm brown eyes met his, hers swimming with tears as he mouthed to her "after school."

amy pulled his chin down to meet her mouth and he broke eye contact with her.

he knew she would find him.

-

after school.

she kept walking.

she had turned around as the blonde pulled his chin down to hers; aggressively if she was being honest.

he had kept eye contact with her the entire time.

she would find him.

she knew it.
