Thena's POV"Wait, have you seen the keys?" I asked, grabbing the blanket that's strewn on the floor to look for the tiny object, silently panicking.
"Chill, it's here." JaeMin played with the keys chained together and putting it down.
After packing, she locked the door and Sky was already beside the car, waiting for us. Putting the bags in the back, I took one last glance at the rest house before we get inside.
We end up going to Daegu in relative silence, minding our own businesses.
Sometimes I would catch JaeMin keeping an eye on Sky's eyelids which seems to be falling over his eyes more and more each breath he takes, probably slept late for the past nights.
I spent the next hours in my phone as I play some music softly enough that it won't bother the now dozing man beside JaeMin.
When we reach the place we'll be staying in Daegu, JaeMin was confused at the building in front of us. Scanning in from top to bottom.
"I thought it will be a hotel?"
"Mr. Lee forgot to book us a room so he told me we'll be sleeping in my house." I replied, looking ahead while entering the place.
"You live here? And you didn't tell me?" She flooded me with questions, reminding me of a certain person who does the same.
"Yah! One by one, I can't understand over your Busan dialect." I sighed, grabbing the keys for the door.
She repeated her questions slowly this time as I answer them, "I used to live in Daegu. My mom spent her life in Daegu, okay?"
"Does that mean you're—"
"I have a korean blood flowing through my veins? Yes."
"How come you never told me?" Her eyes widened in shock, looking at me in disbelief.
"You never asked." I eyed Sky's presence, bags under his blue orbs bigger and darker than usual. I frowned in worry, telling him to go lie down.
He complies, lying down on the couch with a sigh while I went to the fridge to check what she left in here.
"Who lives here now?"
This girl never runs out of questions.
"My friend but she left yesterday. She's either in Nagoya for her mom or Busan for her sister." I pointed at a picture frame hanging near the kitchen counter.
"Ohh, so you have another friend that's from Busan..." Her eyes followed where I'm pointing at as another question slipped from her mouth, "What's her name?"
"Midnight Tomori. And guess what, she might study in our school next year."
JaeMin took a closer look in the picture and studied her. "Her name sure fits her hair don't you think? Anyways, where do I sleep?"
"The house consists of 3 rooms. You'll be staying in my old bedroom. I'll be on the master bedroom and Sky will be in the smallest."
I showed her to her room. Everything was still in place, making it look neat and clean.
We got startled in sync when we heard something purring. I nearly screamed when something soft touched my leg.
Shaking, I slowly contemplate the thing under me. Please don't be a rat please don't be a rat please—
A sigh of relief, it was just Mango, the cat I bought back when I lived here.
"Mango? I thought you're dead." I carried him in my arms and started to baby talk the feline. "Midnight didn't tell me you're still alive. My baby is so chubby now."
