It was a beautiful day in the city if Los Angeles. The flowers were blooming, birds chirping, the sun shining, but it wasn't that hot outside. It wasn't a beautiful day to Keith though, because he had to come in for work today. He forgot that he volunteered himself to come in a Saturday to help with fire alarm inspections in people's homes and installments. Even though it's volunteer work, it's considered as IT, so he's happy about that. He pulls up to the school where he would be meeting with his fellow coworkers and other organizations volunteering.

He listened to the orientation for the volunteers even though he already knew what he was doing. The supervisor of American Red Cross splits up the volunteers into different teams and get them set up with vest, information sheets, fill out documents, and many more other supplies. Keith and his coworkers Calvin and Eugene were talking getting to know people in there team.

" Powers."

Keith turns his head seeing that Lieutenant Charles was calling his name. He jogs over to her ready to sink in the new information she was about to tell him.

" Yes Lieutenant?"

" Ok for today we do not have enough people for you to have your own team, but you will stay as big group taking one route. Is that alright?"

" Yes ma'am I'm ok with that."

" Ok I feel like this would be good because you are our most experienced and efficient worker and will knock out most of the houses for us. Thank you so much Keith."

" No problem lieutenant ", he smiles.

Keith loves Lieutennant Charles because she was like a extra auntie to him.

Keith grabs the roller bag with all his installment supplies, pens, and documents. Placing them in his work truck, he follows Calvin and Eugene.

So far Keith has installed four fire alarms in a hour span which was decent. Most people in this neighborhood either refuse or don't answer the door, and that made Keith wonder why did they pick this group of houses. He moves on to the next house which was pretty big for a one story. Dragging his bag up the steps, he knocks on the door waiting for an answer. He knocks again and still no answer. Sticking a note on the door handle he turns around getting ready to walk down the steps until he heard the door open. Keith couldn't helped but let his jaw hang. A girl in her early twenties stood at the door in a robe with her hair flipped to one side. She must have just gotten out of the shower because her body was soaked.

" Yes?"

" Hello my name is Keith Powers and I work with Los Angeles fire department. I am here today to inform you about fire safety, inspect your current fire alarms, and possibly install new ones. Is it okay with you that I do that?"

" Yeah if course come in."

The young lady opens the door wider for Keith letting him step in the house. He brings in his ladder and bag setting them to the side.

" I'm sorry that I was late answering the door, I was taking a shower."

" It's fine, I'm going to ask you a few questions if you don't mind."
