Y/N finally was in the mood to put up Christmas lights outside of her house. It's was too late to put them out because it's Christmas Eve. This is usually her husband Keith's job, but he's not able to come home for the holidays. He called five days before Christmas to tell her whether or not his discharge was completed or not, but sadly isn't wasn't.

This will be the first Christmas that the kids will not have their father here for the holidays. It was hard telling them because Aubree broke out crying Kason did too and he's not the crying type.

Y/N hears the door open and Kason comes out. He pulls his Lakers beanie on his head putting on his jacket. It was getting a little chilly in Los Angeles.

" Need some help mom?"

" It's alright baby I got it ", she smiles down at him, " where did you get that beanie from?"

" A girl at school gave it to me for secret Santa."

" You better not let your father see it ", Y/N knew Keith was a big Kings fans.

She hears her phone ringing and gets off the ladder and onto the roof. Clicking the accept button she sees Keith's face all close up to the screen.

" Hey mamas."

" Hey boo."

" What are you up to ", he stuffs food in his mouth.

" Nothing just putting up Chritmas, well actually I'm finished."

" I miss you and the kids."

" We miss you too."

" Where are the kids?"

" They're inside hold on let me get off the roof."

Y/N climbs down the ladder down the ladder opening the front door to her home. Jayden crawls over to her grabbing her legs. She picks him up and he grabs her phone.

" Hey little man ", Keith smiles.

" Dada!"

Jayden started clapping and smiling. Aubree comes running in grbbing the phone away her.

" I guess today is snatch mommy's phone away day."

" Hi daddy."

" Hey ladybug."

Kason coming running in the living room.

" Hi dad."

" Hey twin."

Keith was smiling so big Y/N swore his face was going to rip.

" Daddy when are you coming back."

" Daddy doesn't know yet ladybug, I have to wait for a whole new discharge."

" Dad I got you a present ", Kason changes the topic.

" Don't tell me what it is I want to be surprised."
