Pidge looked at them with big eyes and started to blush. "Uh... you guys keep doing what you're doing, I gotta go... do some things. I just wanted to see if you were awake, Lance.", she said, looking every way, except at Keith and Lance and backing away slightly. "Wait!", Lance said quickly. Keith hadn't even realised he was awake as well. "Can you please not tell anyone else about this?", Lance asked. Pidge nodded slightly and then stormed out the door.

Breakfast. It was the first meal in what felt like forever where they all ate together again. Lance could see Pidge looking over at them every five seconds. He noticed how silent the room was, probably because noone knew what to talk about. And he noticed how far away Keith was. They were sitting on opposite ends of the table, but that just made Lance lose his appetite and Keith looked sad as well. Lance examined Keith's beautiful profile, like he had done so many times before. His eyes wandered from the dark black of Keith's hair over his deep dark eyes, his skinny pointy nose, his pale soft lips to his well visible jawline with his sharp chin. Lance loved every edge and part of Keith's face. It was just so perfect.

Keith left the table early. He excused himself and went up to the bathroom. Keith looked at himself in the mirror for a long time, scanning every inch of his face. Of course he didn't look like a galra, but Keith was scared enough. Why would Lance not want anyone to know about their relationship? He was sure it was nothing to worry about, but Keith was still worried that it was because he was part galra.

That's when Keith heard the bathroom door open and Lance stepped inside. "Keith, can we talk?", he asked and turned Keith's face toward his own. Keith looked to the ground, but Lance still cupped his cheeks. He could feel how wet they were. "Keith, don't cry. I don't want to see you suffer. Just tell me what's wrong.", Lance offered. Keith sniffled. "Was it something I did? Was it something I said? Whatever it is, I'm sorry, sweetie.", Lance continued. "No...", Keith said. His voice was a barely audible whisper. "It's me. You didn't want anyone else to know about us, right? Is it maybe because of me? Because I'm a Galra and you're not? You're a paladin of Voltron."

"You're talking nonsense, babe, you're a paladin of Voltron as well."

"But I'm also galra."

"Don't beat yourself up about it, it's not your fault. And besides, your character counts, right?", Lance asked smiling softly.

"Well yeah, but..."

"See? And you have the best personality. You're funny, friendly, cute, smart,..."

"But...", Keith tried to disagree.

"If that's not enough, the black lion chose you as our leader. You are a part of Voltron!", Lance pressed.

"He chose Zarkon before."

"True, I guess. But I can see into your heart. And I don't care what you are, I care who you are. And I like who you are. I love you and I'm proud to call you my own!"

"So then why didn't you want anyone to know about us?", Keith asked hesitantly.

"Because I thought maybe you didn't want everyone to know. I didn't know if it made you uncomfortable somehow. I'm sorry if I made you uneasy instead.", Lance apologised. "Lance, no. I'm sorry. I'm such an idiot! All you did was care for me, but I had to be stupid about it. I'm really sorry.", Keith admitted.

"It's fine, don't blame yourself!", Lance said and smiled at Keith "I love you so much." "I love you too.", Keith answered and fell around Lance's neck. "I'll never leave you."

They decided to go to the bridge together and tell everyone. They were proud of each other and proud to have each other. So they wanted to make it official from now on.

"Lance! Keith! Are you all right? You left so suddenly.", Allura asked concerned. "We're fine.", Lance said confidently "But we need to tell all of you something." They all gathered on the couch and Pidge wore a knowing smile on her face. "What is is?", Hunk asked. "Well, you see... I... me and Keith...", Lance started and sighed, until Keith took his hand. "We're dating.", Keith finished the sentence. "What?!", Allura asked, clearly surprised. Hunk's mouth hung open and his eyes were wide. Pidge jumped up and walked over to them. "Congrats.", she said and smiled widely "Officially." She shook both their hands simultaneously and had to cross her arms to do so. Coran just yawned. "Wait, so we were supposed to think of you as straight?", he asked. That made them all laugh.
