That Night [Klance]

Chapter 2

When Lance awoke in the morning, he realised they were inside the castle. Lance was still sitting in the red lion and Keith was still asleep in his lap, but they were inside the castle. "Thanks.", Lance murmured once he realised Red had flown them back. He stood up and carried his sleeping beauty to Keith's room. Once he had tucked him in, Lance went to take a shower. He had a lot to think about.

Keith yawned and sat up. He rubbed his eyes and tried to paint a picture of what had happened, then shook it off. "This was crazy...", he sighed. Keith changed into a new shirt and put on a new pair of jeans, before walking out into the dining room of the castle. "Good morning Keith, have you slept well?", Allura asked. Keith nodded. "Hey, do you have any food for me? I'm kinda hungry."

"Well no wonder.", Allura laughed "You've missed dinner and breakfast!"

She sat down at the table with Keith and after a long silence, she looked at the new team leader. "Keith, I've been meaning to ask you... how are you dealing with being the leader? Are you even okay with it?", she didn't hide her concern.

"It can't be helped, princess."

"But you must understand, you are not alone in..."

"No, you have to understand!", Keith said forcefully "I'm sorry princess, but the black lion has made its choice! And it chose me."

"Keith..."

"It doesn't matter how I feel about it. That's just how it's gonna be."

They both sighed. "I better go bond with Black for a bit, or else I won't be able to lead you next time.", Keith said and got up, just when Lance walked into the room. "Hey, how's it going, beauty? Slept well?", he asked. Keith just huffed and walked out, back to his room. He should have been used to Lance's daily flirts woth Allura by now, but it kept bugging him. At first, he didn't know why, but now he realised. He had been having certain dreams for a while. Dreams about Lance. Dreams with Lance.

Keith slammed his door shut and buried himself under his blanket. How could he ever hope for his dreams to come true? Lance liked Allura, period, and everyone knew it. Keith didn't stand a chance with him. He wanted to fall asleep again and go back to the realm of dreams, where he could be with Lance. His last dream had been so detailed and clear, Keith was actually surprised. And he remembered every second of it, which was also not normal. It just felt so real, almost like it had really happened. But that was not possible. Lance was untouchable to Keith and he knew he had to live with that.

Keith got up to go visit Black.
