That Night [Klance]

Chapter 5

"Keith! Keith, are you even listening to me?"

Keith's head snapped up. "Did you even get a single word I said right now?", Pidge asked. She sighed and let her head sink. "Keith, this is kind of important... I just explained this solar system to you. We might be able to find Shiro there, but it's going to be tricky. I don't know what it is, but we need to leave Altea again very soon! We've been staying here ever since we chased Lotor and almost died! I have no idea why you don't want to go back to space, but you better sort things out if we want to defeat Lotor and get Shiro back!"

"I've got it!", Keith exclaimed and jumped up. Pidge started to smile, glad that Keith finally showed some interest, but Keith just mumbled "Sorry, I gotta go, Pidge." and stormed out of the room, leaving a confused green paladin behind.

An hour later, Lance heard a knock on the kitchen door, before his boyfriend entered. Lance smiled and looked up from the bowl he was mixing dough in. "No explanation, gotta borrow this real quick!", Keith said and grabbed Lance, pulling him out the door. That sent the bowl flying and Hunk, who had been working with Lance, had to catch it. "Hey, watch it! We need those cookies!", he shouted after them.

"Are you noticing anything weird?", Hunk asked while walking onto the bridge. "What do you mean?", Coran asked, twisting his moustache. "You know... about Lance and Keith. Do they seem... different to any of you?", Hunk continued. "Yeah, Keith never focuses anymore!", Pidge complained. "And Lance has stopped hitting on me completely.", Allura added "Not that I'm particularly sad about that, I've just been noticing." Coran turned around to look at the paladins. "Well now that you mention it, they do seem to be absent more often.", he thought out loud. Hunk ruffled his hair and asked: "So... do you guys think they're finally getting along?"

Meanwhile, Lance was being dragged through the castle and finally to the door. They finally stopped on a hill, it was dark by now, and Keith laid out a blanket on the floor. They sat down on it and Keith tugged into his pocket. "Look what I brought from earth~", he teased and showed Lance a box of chocolate. "You're kidding!", Lance exclaimed and his eyes lit up "You haven't eaten it in all this time?!" "No... it reminded me of you. Just as sweet...", Keith said softly. Lance laughed and tackled Keith on the floor. He looked at him and even though it was so dark, Lance saw every part of Keith's face. "You're so perfect, I want to kiss you.", he sighed. "I think that can be arranged.", Keith answered and tugged at Lance's shirt sleeve. Lance bowed down and put his lips on Keith's.

They stayed on the hill, cuddling, kissing and feeding each other with chocolate. And when Lance tiredly cuddled up against Keith's side, Keith pecked the top of his head. "Look.", he said and pointed at the sky. The night sky with all its stars was visible and now, meteors had started to rain over the dark sky. Lance smiled and hugged Keith closer, so Keith felt his boyfriend shudder. He pulled another blanket out of the bag beside him and wrapped it around them both, forcing them to cuddle even closer. There was no space left between them and they felt warm and safe. Lance yawned and soon after, when Keith looked at him, he was asleep and his face looked peaceful. Without waking him, Keith wrapped the blanket around Lance and put everything back into the bag. Then, he shouldered the bag and carried Lance back to the ship bridal style. Keith softly laid the brown-haired boy into his bed and pulled his blanket over him. He was about to leave, when Keith felt a hand on his wrist. He turned around to Lance and saw that he was looking at Keith sleepily, holding his arm. "Please... stay with me. Don't leave me.", Lance yawned. It made Keith smile. When he looked at Lance again, he was sleeping and his hand wasn't holding Keith anymore. So Keith got into the bed next to Lance. He held him tight and intertwined their fingers. And then he fell asleep with Lance's warmth against his own.

When Keith opened his eyes in the morning, he heard the door open. A few seconds later, he saw Pidge looking at him with big eyes.
