That Night [Klance]

Chapter 7

Lance woke from the light shining into his room and lighting up his face. It was warm and bright and seemed to cast away all the darkness and troubles in Lance's head. So Allura finally knew about Keith and him. At first, Lance had thought it would be weird, because he had always tried to get something with Allura going, but in the end it was fine. Allura had been confused at first and unable to believe it. In the end, she just thought they were a good match. "You're adorable, I don't know why we didn't see it before...", she had said and laughed.

Keith woke up a few hours earlier, but it wasn't a pleasant waking. He had dreamt about Shiro calling out for Keith. His sceams became more desperate, but no matter how he suffered, Keith wouldn't help. Keith had turned away and closed his eyes to what happened to his est friend, the person he had been through so much with.

Keith sighed and pulled the blanket up over his head. He felt so bad about not helping Shiro, he hadn't looked for Shiro at all since they came back from their mission with Lotor and it was eating him up inside. Yet he couldn't get himself to go. He didn't like flying the black lion. It felt wrong and the lion belonged with Shiro.

About an hour later, Keith finally heaved himself out of bed and trotted over to the bathroom. He splashed some water on his face and looked at himself in the mirror. 'I look aweful.', he thought, staring at the dark circles under his eyes. It was no wonder he looked tired. He had gotten four hours of sleep at most and those had been filled with nightmares! Keith brushed his teeth and sleepily walked over to the bridge. Noone was there. Keith wanted to see Lance right now, he could almost feel how he cuddled close to Lance's warm back and breathed against his soft neck. He wanted to smell the smell of apples and let his beautiful smile fade away his sorrows, but he knew Lance was still sleeping and he wouldn't wake him. Not for such a sefish reason. Keith sat down in his chair and looked at the dark night sky through the window front. He feared going up there, seeing the stars again. And that was what kept him awake at night. It's what kept him away this night. It took another two hours for Keith to finally fall asleep again, when the sun was already creeping up on the horizon, lighting up Altea and waking everyone else. Everyone who was not struggling, like Keith had been all night.

After Lance had gotten ready in the bathroom, he walked to the dining room. Everyone except for Keith was already there, so Lance sat down next to Hunk. "Good morning, Lance.", Allura called over "Do you know where your sleepihead of a boyfriend could be?" Lance looked at the empty chair. "I don't know... he wasn't in his room, I wanted to wake him before coming here. So when I didn't see him there, I assumed he was already here.", he explained. "That's strange, I didn't see him either, although I wasn't paying attention to him all that much...", Hunk added.

They ate in silence, but Keith still didn't show up, even 30 minutes later, when they were already done eating. Coran sighed. "Let us check for galra cruisers, then we at least have something to do besides making long faces.", he suggested. They put their dishes away and walked over to the bridge together. They had just entered, when Lance heard a soft snore. He walked over to Keith's chair excitedly, because it had to be his boyfriend. And it was. Keith was sleeping on his chair, cuddled up in a ball. "Hey honey~", Lance whispered softly and kissed Keith's head. The back-haired paladin shifted a bit and then opened his eyes slowly. "Lance?", he asked sleepily. Lance smiled. "Why are you sleeping here, sweetie?", he asked and gave Keith another quick kiss, this time on the lips. They could hear Pidge and Allura do this high-pitched laugh of excitement. "I'm sorry, really...", Keith said. "I just had a nightmare, that's all."

"That's all my ass!"

"Huh?", Keith asked confused.

"You don't say 'that's all' when you have a nightmare, all right Keith? You get up and don't sleep in your chair, but in my bed! You tell me what's wrong and I hug you and tell you that it's gonna be fine. Are we clear?"
