"Cmon, sweetheart -- rise and shine,"

I'm rudely awaken by a blinding stream of light flowing in through the crack of the closet door. It hurt more when my concussion was at its peak, but now it's mainly an annoyance. I grumble and roll into a sitting position with my legs crossed. The sunspots in my vision clear quickly and I'm met with J.D.'s obnoxious features. Greasy black hair, 5 o'clock shadow (when was the last time he shaved?), and unnaturally straight teeth. I didn't even need to look at his actual facial feature to know it was him -- of course, who else would be coming in the closet anyway?

I sigh at him angrily. He chuckles and walks behind me, undoing the handcuffs before redoing them in the front. In my hands, he gently sets an apple. He kisses my forehead before leaving the closet. I grumble, and once he shuts the door behind him I chuck the apple at the door. It hits with a hollow thud before falling to the ground and rolling back in front of me.  J.D. returns, opening the door, "That's for eating, you know. I have a present for you later, don't get on my nerves before then." He slams the door behind him.

I groan and pick the apple back up, bringing my knees to my chest before starting to eat the apple. It now has a soft patch from where it hit the door. I bite into the unpleasantness that is the flattened part of the apple, eating it only because I know I have to. I sneak one hand under the baggy T-Shirt I have on and feel my ribs, reminding myself how badly I need to eat. Unfortunately, with my hands bound, one hand means both, and the freezing metal of the handcuffs hits my stomach. Chills run up my spine and I quickly retract my hand from my body. I grumpily bite the apple again.

Eventually, I finish the apple. I throw the core against the door of the closet, hoping to get J.D.'s attention. As I sit and wait, I feel progressively more annoyed. Suddenly, a thought hits me like a bullet. The doctor mentioned mood changes, right? My annoyance melts away and is replaced with anxiety. My legs shake against my chest and I wrap my arms around myself tighter. The fear of not being able to control my own emotions was almost scarier then being held captive in a strange man's closet.

Almost.

The door slams open like it has many times before. J.D. steps in the closet and I instantly forget what I was thinking, all I know is that I'm pissed of to be near him again. He smells like smoke and beer, causing me to scrunch up my nose.

"Alright, babe. We're going, come on," he says, pulling out his revolver before unlocking the handcuffs around my wrists. I stand up, running my hands through my hair to at least attempt to make look nice. J.D. guides me out of the closet and to his bed, where he hands me a pair of plain black rain boots. Sliding them okay my bare feet, I cringe at the sensation of rubber pulling all the hairs on my legs.

Once they're on,  J.D. silently leads me upstairs and to his backdoor. My arms are folded across my chest and I scowl when he point out the door. "Oh, HELL no, I am not going out in the freezing snow in a shirt and shorts," I say, stubbornly planted inside the house.

"You have boots too," J.D. says. "And don't forget," he starts, raising his fist, "I'm the one in charge here,"

I feel a twinge of fear that makes my stomach flip. I slowly walk outside, J.D. trailing behind me with his revolver pointed at my back.

"To the shed," he commands. My stomach flips again. This surprise better not be locking me in a freezing shed.

We trudge through the snow, which almost climbs over the top of the boots. I stumble, and J.D. prods me with his weapon. "I'm going, JD! Just stop for like a second, jeez!"

We get to the front of the shed, and J.D. motions for me to open it. I undo the sliding chain lock on the door and push it open gently. I see within the shed a girl. I'm taken aback, this was probably the last thing I expected to see when J.D. brought me out here. She stands and stares at me intensely. She has blonde hair, and her red sweater is stained darker in different places. Her legs are dripping blood as she balances herself. "Veronica..." she mutters.
