"Can I just stay here forever with you?", I asked stroking Y/N's hair. "You can, but you shouldn't", Y/N smiled. "Real life is hard, this is soothing", I said. "Dinah, break is almost over, imagine how heartbroken everyone would feel to leave you here like this", Y/N said. "If the afterlife means eternity with you, that's just a sacrifice I have to make", I said. "Fine, I can't control you", Y/N sighed. "Really?", I asked. "Yeah, if you want to be stupid, that's your call", Y/N said. "Shut up", I pouted. Y/N laughed and kissed my cheek. "Sometimes the things we want isn't what we need", Y/N said. "You're right", I sighed. "I don't know how to wake up though", I said. "Yes you do", Y/N said. "Uh no, don't give me that cheesy stuff and say that the answer lies within me", I said. "Okay, you already have the ability to figure it out", Y/N laughed. "Will you help me?", I asked. "You and me forever babe", Y/N said. "I hope that's true", I said. "Trust me", Y/N smiled. "I love you", I said. "You shouldn't be saying that here", Y/N said. "But I am, in here you'll always say it back", I said. "Oh DJ, no matter what you choose, I'll love you, to stay and figure things out, or if you go and never come back", Y/N frowned at the last part of her sentence. "I'll always come back to you", I said. "Prove it", Y/N stroked my cheek as we laid face to face.

-

"How's she doing?", I asked. "Well Ms. Y/L/N, her vitals are stable and we've been observing frequent brain activity, that's a good sign", the Nurse said. "Thank you", I smiled. I walked over to Dinah's bedside and put her hand in mine. "What's going on in that brain of yours?", I laughed. "I hope you're thinking of a way out of this Dinah Jane", I said. "I have to go back to London next Wednesday", I said. "By then if you don't wake up, I don't know when I'll see you again, or if I'll see you again", I said. "I don't know what I would do without you, you're my best friend",   "Come back Dinah",  "Come back to me", I said as I stroked her hand.

-

"Come back to me" I heard faintly. "What is that?", I asked. "That's your girl, Dinah", Y/N smirked. "She comes to the hospital often", I said. "Of course I do", Y/N said. "Obviously, I just want you to wake up and so does everyone else in your life", Y/N said. "Plus, you are stacking up bills here, and you are losing hours worth of training for the basketball season", Y/N said. "Dinah, you are a lottery pick, if you don't wake up now or at all, you'll never get your shot", Y/N said. "The WNBA has been your dream since we were kids", Y/N said. "It was your dream too", I said. "That doesn't matter right now, because I can still accomplish that, what about you?", Y/N said. "You can't give up", I looked at Y/N intently. "You're right", I said.
