In shock of what she'd just heard, she stared into space, processing the information she'd just received. It couldn't be true- what this man had just told her, besides, he's merely a stranger. For all she could know he was crazy, but no one in the wrong intention-or, actually, in the right mind- would sneak into her house, try to embrace her, tell her she was their favourite character, and scrutinize a can of tuna like it was new technology.
"Wait, how am I supposed to believe you?" Finally, a reply came out. He sighed, and looked off to the side, then closed his eyes. After a pause he looked back into her eyes and crossed his arms, "Your name is (y/n) and you were born on (birth date), you used to live with your parents but you left when you were 18, right now you are at school and a merchant at a book store. You hate eating vegetables, you grew up an insecure child, and prefer coffee over tea but 'hot chocolate' -whatever that is- is your overall preference."
She was completely caught off guard, this man knew of her entirety, and it was all from his "book". There and then she had just come to a realization or an epiphany- if you may- that all her life, all that has brought her to this moment could possibly have been written and thought out by some unknown metaphysical force. She felt as though her life had been a lie- that all of her choices and decisions were somehow controlled by whoever was writing this "book".
After her long contemplation, she finally looked back at the man still with his arms crossed, this time with a can of soup, staring at it intently as if he was a scientist examining a lab rat.
"Wh..." words refused to exit her mouth, her mind still clouded. Although this man could have been lying, she still believed it. It would have been appropriate to call her "gullible" but she could not be unnaccepting of whatever his man had just told her. He was right about everything he said about her from her date of birth to the fact that she likes hot chocolate, even if he was quite unaware of what it is. He knew a lot about her but she did not know anything about the man.
Or so she thought.
"You're probably wondering what my name is," he finally broke the silence. Now that he mentioned it, yes, she was wondering what his name was.
"Levi. It's Levi." Her heart stopped for a moment. Could it be all a coincidence? This man had the same name as her favourite character in the book she was reading. Was this man the same man? This man who wore his cravat like Levi, had that stoic face like Levi, was incredibly handsome and was aesthetically similar to Levi. Is this Levi, the clean-freak Levi in the book? Is his life a made up story in her universe as hers is in his universe?
"L-Levi... Ackerman... right?" her face was confused, she pressed a finger to her lips, thinking.
"Yes, how did you know?" his expression did not change except he lowered his eyebrows in curiosity.
"W-well it seems that I know a little bit about you as well, Captain Levi."
He froze at what she had just told him. "Captain Levi, the man who lived underground, was a criminal, and joined the Scout Regiment. Many people look up to you and you are seen as 'humanity's strongest' although you hate it. You love to clean-not sure why but it could be a psychological reason, and," she nearly whispered "you are also my favourite character." she pursed her lips together waiting for a response.
He unfolded his arms, and gripped onto his knees leaning closer to the table, "What do you mean, favourite character? How?"
"That is exactly my question, c-captain." she internally chuckled at the thought of saying "captain" out loud.
"What book is this? Show me." She got up from her seat and to her couch where she had slept with her book. It was the latest volume. He looked down, almost petrified -it was the closest she could get to a reaction from Levi.
There was a long silence, the only noise filling the room was him flipping through the pages and his still and calm breaths. Although this man could have been crazy, she believed it all. Infact, she felt comfortable sitting silently with this supposed, Levi Ackerman.
"Do you want something to drink? I'll give you tea if you want. Just not black tea, I don't have any." She said, reaching for a mug in her cabinets.
"Tell me, how does this.. uh.. 'hot chocolate' taste like? I would like to try it." Levi replied.
(A/N) okay well here we are, the second chapter. I was writing this while doing philosophy homework which is why you might have read a hint of existentialism or something ok bye.
