YEAR 20

As we all walked through the classroom, I noticed the large, dusty windows serving as walls. We always came here when we had no other place to go, so there were always a few chairs standing near a few dust desks.

I lifted my desk so it could stand upright and brushed the dust off of it with my palm. This is the last thing I would've wanted to do...

Today was our last day of school. We decided to move two weeks ago, meaning we may not be able to see our brothers and sisters again.

I folded my paper in half while sitting at my desk in class, my pencil in my hand, hovering over the piece of paper. I couldn't figure out what I wanted to say.

"you must survive" I wrote, my pencil making scratching noises as I continued to write.

Soon the paper was filled with stories of poor parents, siblings and a director between the graphite powder and the doodles I'd made through my process of writing.

I crumpled the paper and shoved it into my pocket as I rose from my seat. I pushed my desk away from me as I ran out the classroom, quickly stopping to write three letters (words) out on the dust window: "See You Again."

Those three words were more for comfort than to state a promise.

What does he mean by 'see you again'?
