We stayed at Natalie's house for another 10 minutes, before her parents got home and we had to leave. Instead of going back to my house, we walked to Starbucks. This time, we actually got there without fighting.
We ordered our drinks and sat down at a small table together. By now, it was about 5, and Starbucks wasn't that busy. We talked and laughed, then someone came up from behind Vivian.
"Having fun with your new boyfriend?" The short girl asked, and Vivian turned around quickly.
"What do you want?" She glared at her.
"So, you're dating the loner now, huh Vivian? I thought you could do better." She scoffed, looking at me.
"Shut the hell up, Carolyn." She was starting to get mad.
"Why should I?"
"Leave us alone." She started to turn around.
"Well don't get pregnant." She started walking away.
"Carolyn, why are you such a bitch?" Vivian turned around quickly.
"What did you just say?" She turned slowly, walking back to our table.
"You can be a real bitch sometimes." She said slowly.
"Viv," I whispered, and she whipped around to face me.
"It's okay, Hemmo."
"You don't want to start something with me." The girl, Carolyn, leaned down to meet Vivian's eyes.
"Honey, I'm not the one that started it." Vivian stood up, and it was a good thing she was taller than Carolyn. "Never say anything about me or Luke." She leaned down a little so that their faces were inches away from each other, and the entire time, Vivian was giving her a death glare.
"You can't tell me what to do, bitch." Carolyn stepped back. Vivian reacted immediately after she said that, slapping the shorter girl in the face.
She grabbed her face and pulled her forward, whispering in her ear. "Say that again." I think that was scarier than the yelling. Carolyn's eyes went wide when she got slapped, and Vivian was calm the whole time.
"You, are going to regret this." Carolyn glared at her.
"I'm the one that's regretting? Babe, I got no regrets. I'm just not so sure about you."
"Skank." Carolyn mumbled, starting to walk away again.
"What?" Vivian stepped forward, grabbing Carolyn's arm and spinning her around. Before Carolyn could say anything, I was up and by Vivian's side.
"Baby, calm down, stop." I whispered. "Let's go home, we can watch a movie, sit outside..." I kissed her cheek, pulling her by the shoulders slightly. She let go of Carolyn's arm, and Carolyn honestly looked terrified. I got our drinks and gave her the cup, lacing our fingers together and walking out of the shop.
"I want to kill her." She said as we walked.
"I don't want you to."
"You know what I don't want? I don't want her saying shit about you or me."
"It's fine, just ignore them."
"I can't."
"I learned to, you can."
"It's hard to, Hemmo." She whined, leaning her head on my arm.
"You'll be with me, it's okay."
"Fine, I'll try not to kill her."
"Good." I smiled.
"Did you call me baby, in there?"
"Y-yeah..." I could feel the heat rise to my cheeks and I put my head down as we walked. She stopped and turned to me, and I turned also. I still had my head down, and she grabbed my chin gently, tilting my face up slightly, but she didn't need to much, because she was shorter than me.
"Hemmo, it's cute." She smiled.
I didn't respond. Well, I did. I grabbed the sides of her face and leaned down, kissing her gently in the middle of the sidewalk.
"Let's go home." I said, grabbing her hand again.
When we got to her house, it was about 5:30.
"I need to do my homework still." She laughed when we got to my house.
"So do I."
"Are you having trouble in any of your classes? I could help you."
"Well, not really... But we can still do our homework together." I shrugged, smiling.
"Do you want to do it at my house? We could start a fire in the backyard, we have a little fire pit..."
"Okay, I'll tell my mum." I walked into the house, and I was greeted by my mum yelling at me.
"LUKE WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU?" She yelled right when I shut the door.
"I told you, I would be with my friend." I walked past the living room where she was, starting up the stairs.
"Where were you?" She got up and walked up the stairs behind me.
"I was walking around the block with my friend, then we walked to Starbucks and bought something, then came back." I turned around, walking into my room.
"Where are you going?" She grabbed my arm tightly.
"To my friend's house."
"What friend?" She squeezed my arm tighter.
"The girl that came over last week..." I picked up my backpack and set it down on my bed.
"Oh, a girl? Who is this girl?" She let go of my arm and sat down on my bed.
"Her name is Vivian. She's really nice." I unzipped my backpack, checking if everything I needed was in there.
"Is she your girlfriend?"
"Would it be okay if she was my girlfriend?"
"Yes, always." She smiled. Smiled. My mum is actually being nice?
"Yeah, she's my girlfriend." I zipped my backpack, throwing it onto my shoulder.
"Do you want me to meet her?" She stood up, still smiling. Woah.
"If you want to." I walked out of my room, and she followed.
"Invite her over for dinner tomorrow, I can make something for us."
"Okay, I will."
"Be back by 10!" She called as I walked out of the house.
"Was she mad?" Vivian asked when I shut the door.
"The opposite, actually. She wants to meet you, she told me to invite you over for dinner tomorrow night."
"Really?" She asked excitedly.
"Yes, really. Will you come?"
"Of course I will! Yes! Come on let's go!" She grabbed my arm, right where my mum had. I gasped slightly at the pain, and she turned around quickly. "Oh my god, did I hurt you? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, when I first walked in she was mad and grabbed my arm right there."
"I'm sorry Lukey." She pouted.
"Lukey? Really?" I asked, raising my eyebrows
"It's cute."
"I guess, let's go." I shrugged, and we started walking down the street.
