Midnight.

Home alone.

Mum and Dad were on a business trip, and Ashton was with his girlfriend.

I was practicing another new song I started writing the night before. I was sat in the corner of my room at my piano, with the dim lights I had hung up the being the only light in there, trying to think of a bridge.

"I try to make you see.... Everything I need.... I can't seem to let you go... One thing I know...." I mumbled lyrics, writing them down randomly and trying to put them together. "Okay. Bridge." I said quietly to myself, starting to play.

I live here on my knees as I

Try to make you that you're

Everything I think I need

Here on the ground

But you're neither friend nor foe

Though I

Can't seem to let you go

The one thing that I still know is that you're keeping me

Down, ooh, oh, oh

You're keeping me down, yeah, yeah

Right as I was about to start singing again I heard a lot tapping. I almost screamed. My heart stopped for a couple seconds, I knew it was coming from my window. I ran out of my room and downstairs, into the kitchen. I grabbed a knife from the drawer, slowly walking back upstairs to my room. The tapping kept going, and I slowly looked out of my window.

Only to see, Luke Hemmings.

"Hemmo! What the hell!" I whisper-yelled.

"Hi!" He yelled up to me.

"You scared the crap out of me!" I showed him the large knife I still held tightly in my hand, being careful not to drop it out the window.

"Woah." He said, putting his hands up defensively.

"I'm home alone, what the hell do you think I would do?" I said in a normal voice. I don't know why I was whispering in the first place, no one is home.

"You're home alone? What about Ash?" He said, furrowing his eyebrows.

"He's with his girlfriend." I shrugged.

"Well can I come up?" He asked.

"Just use the front door, you dork."

"That's not cool, though." He whined.

"Hemmo, use the front door."

"Ugh, fine." He groaned, starting to walk away. "Taking all the fun out of it..." He mumbled, and I laughed, shaking my head.

Then, as I was walking down the stairs, I heard the door open.

"Damn, Viv, home alone and leaving your door unlocked?" He asked, laughing and shutting the door. I heard the click of the lock, then I saw him turn the corner and walk to me, smiling.

"Hey." I smiled, stopping in the middle of the stairs.

"Hi." He smiled back, starting to climb the stairs.

I ran.

I ran up the stairs, into my room, jumping onto the bed and sitting cross-legged. I heard him running after me, and when he got into my room, he jumped onto the bed with me, sitting across from me in the same position as I was.
