"McKenna darling. Get up, you don't want to be late on your first day of school." Ugh. Not only did I just get here, but I have to go to school the next day. "Alright mom. I'm getting ready." I replied. I got up and made my bed, then I headed to the shower. After my shower, I rummaged through my boxes to find the perfect outfit. After about 10 minutes, I finally settled on a cute long sleeve striped shirt, with denim jumpers and my brown combat boots. After getting dressed, I went to the bathroom to do my hair and make up. I didn't want to apply to much make up or I'd look like a cake face so I added some foundation with powder then a bit of blusher, then I just applied some mascara. Next I had to work on my hair. I brushed out my long light brown hair with gold highlight, then, I perfectly curled it. I have to say, I look great. Not to be cocky or anything. I then went downstairs to grab some food. "G'day mom." I said. "G'day love." She replied. I gobbled my food down, grabbed my bag and headed for the car. It only took about 2 minutes to get there. As I waved good bye to my mother, a girl came up to me. "Hi. I'm Hazel, are you new here?" She asked. "Uh, yeah. My name is McKenna. It's my first day here. Can you show me around?" I had no idea who she was but I guess it's good to have someone who already knows the school. We walked into the school and went to the office to get my schedule. "Ok, so only two of your classes are not with me. That's fine. Our first class is math." She was so kind, but I felt kind of awkward. We walked into the class and this tall boy with beach blonde hair caught my attention. He was so dreamy, I couldn't take my eyes off him. "McKenna, you can take a seat over there. McKenna, did you hear me?" I was totally caught off guard. "Oh, yes miss." I replied. I knew where to sit because she was pointing to my spot. Oh My Gosh! I get to sit next to the beach hottie. I'm so shy though. What if he talks to me?

Ross's POV:

I was just in math class talking to one of my friends when I noticed the hottest girl I've ever seen. "Bro! Check out the new girl. She's smokin." One of my friends said to me. I nodded in agreement. The teacher told her to sit by me. Yes! I was going to say something, She looked a bit shy though. Oh well. I think it's cute. "Hey. Welcome to Math class. I'm Ross." I whispered. She gave me a little smile, and she blushed a bit. "I'm McKenna." She replied. Man, I have to get to know this girl. "Where are you from?" I asked. "I'm from Australia. I got here last night." She replied. She has a really thick accent. I can still understand her though. I tried to make a conversation with her, but I guess she's to shy to say anything. The bell rang to go to the next class. "McKenna! What class do you have next?" I hoped we had the same schedule. "Um, PE. I don't know where that is." She said. Opportunity knocks. "Oh cool. Me too. I guess we'll walk there together." I told her. I saw her blush, like hard core. She is definitely nervous.

McKenna's POV:

No way. He is talking to me. I try to ignore him because I'm a bit nervous. I hope he doesn't notice. We have PE together so I guess I'm stuck with him for a while. Yay! I couldn't wait until this day was over. I was hoping I could work up the courage to talk to him. He was alone at his locker, so I decided to walk over there. As I was walking, he looked up and noticed me. My heart began to race and I felt butterflies. I can't really be falling for this guy. I mean, It's only the first day. I stopped and looked down. Maybe I should turn around, and talk to him another time, so I turned around and started to walk away. All of a sudden I felt a hand touch my shoulder. I let out a shriek as I noticed it was him. He kind of chuckled a little bit. I turned bright red of embarrassment. "Hey. Why did you turn around?" he asked me. I don't know what to say. I can't let him know that I'm nervous around him. "Oh. I was uh, going t-t-to say h-h-hi before." I stuttered. By now, I'm sure he knows how nervous I am. He laughed again. "I feel like your nervous. Are you nervous?" He asked me. By now I was nearly in tears. How embarrassing! I looked down and ran away. I was too embarrassed to answer his question.

Ross's POV:

I looked up and noticed McKenna walking towards me. I smiled. Suddenly, she stopped and turned around. I quickly closed my locker and ran over to her and touched her shoulder. She looked up at me and shrieked. She's clearly nervous, how cute. I asked her why she turned around. She sort of stumbled on her words. I laughed because it was funny but cute. After she 'answered' I asked if she was nervous. She looked as if she was about to cry. She ran off without answering my question. I felt bad because she is obviously a shy girl and I made her upset. I wasn't taking no for an answer so I ran after her.

Hazel's POV:

I felt someone touch me. It was McKenna. "Oh, hey! What's wrong? Are you Ok?" I asked. She looked terrified. I dragged her into the bathroom. "I'm OK I guess. I met this guy and I'm really shy and he noticed that I was nervous and he asked me if I was. It was so embarrassing." She broke out in tears. "Aw. It's OK. We all have struggles when it comes to guys. Trust me. I've been there, done that. It'll get better, I promise." I told her.

McKenna's POV:

After my talk with Hazel, it made me feel a little better but I'm still shy. I texted my mom that I could walk home since I lived so close. I looked behind me and saw Ross heading in the same direction as me. I started freaking out. I sped up hoping he wouldn't notice me, but he did. "McKenna! Wait up." He shouted. Oh dear lord I thought. "Hey." I mumbled. "I'm so sorry for making you upset earlier, can you forgive me?" he asked. "It wasn't your fault, it's just I- he cut me off. "I know you're nervous. It's OK. I think it's cute." He told me. That suddenly made me feel better. "What gave it away?" I wondered. "Well, in math when you were trying to ignore me." He replied. I blushed and looked away. "Do you want to go to the beach?" He asked. "Like, just us two?" I replied. "Yeah." He said. I wanted to go but I can't swim. "Um. I don't know. I don't really know you that well." I said. "So, lets get to know each other, tonight. I'll pick you up at six." He said as he winked at me. I blushed again, hard core. "Awe. You're blushing. Don't be shy." He told me. "I can't help it. I get really nervous around y- boys. I've always been that way." I explained. He nodded in understanding. We got up to my house. "This is me." I told him. You live here?! I lived two doors down. That's crazy! He said with excitement. He left and I ran inside quickly. "I'm home mother." I yelled. "How was you're first day?" She asked with enthusiasm. "I made a friend. Her name is Hazel. She is so nice. I think me and her might end up best mates." I answered. "That's nice. Did you meet any boys?" She asked with a creepy look in her eye. I thought about it a while, wondering if I should tell her about Ross. "Well, yeah. I met one boy and he wants me to hang out with him at the beach today. He said he would pick me up at 6." I explained. "Darling, are you OK going to the beach? You've never swam before." She ask with a worried look. "Don't worry mother. I'm not going in the water. We were just going to hang out on the sand I guess." I hoped.
