I woke up early. I felt really sick. My stomach was in pain and I have a really bad headache. I was hot and cold at the same time. The room was spinning. I couldn't tell if Ross was with me. I sat up fast. "McKenna! What's wrong?" Ross sounded worried. I tried speaking but I couldn't. He carried me to the bathroom. "Your really hot. I think you have a fever." He felt my forehead. "I'm cold." I shivered. "No your body is burning." I was going to reply but something else came out. My head hung over the toilet. I threw up all morning. Why must I get sick? On vacation. I was supposed to enjoy this not fall apart both physically and mentally. At least now I'm not throwing up because there is nothing to throw up but I still feel like crap. I've been in bed all day. I can't wait to get back to California. "How are you feeling?" Ross entered the room with some soup. "I've had better days." I told him. "Here. You need to eat." I pushed it away. "No. I'll just throw it up later. Thanks though." Worry spread across his face. "I'm sorry this is all happening. I know this isn't how you wanted to spend your christmas. You've had nothing but a bad trip this entire time. I want you to know- he was cut of. "ROSS!" It was her again. "Um.. Maia? What are you doing here?" He was just as shocked as me. "I was in the neighbourhood." She hugged him. I threw up again spilling the hot soup on me. I screamed making them both look at me. "Hello again." I sarcastically smiled trying to hold back tears. "Oh my goodness. Babe, I'm sorry. I'll get some towels." He ran out of the room leaving me alone with Maia. "So how are you?" She asked. "How do I look?" I barked. "OK then.... Uh, how long have you and Ross been friends?" I was taken back by what she thought. "I'm his girlfriend. We established this the first time." She laughed. "Oh right! Sorry. I'm not very clear headed right now. It was a bit awkward the first time we met." I nodded. "Has Ross talked about me?" She asked. "Nope! Never." I smirked. "Oh. Well he talked about you all the time." I gave her a fake smile. "I'd hope so considering how much he loves me." Probably not the best idea saying that but I had to. Ross then came back. "I really like your girlfriend Ross. I think we could be good friends." She put her hand on mine but I pulled it back quickly. "Um, can we have a minute alone please?" Ross asked. She nodded and left. "McKenna. What is wrong with you? Why are you being so mean to her?" I crossed my arms. "I don't like her." I told him. "Are you jealous?" My eyes went wide. "Pssh.. What? Of course not." I lied. "Yeah you are. I can see it in your eyes." Man. He can read me like an open book. "Maybe a little bit but can you blame me? She's really pretty, and sweet, she's taller than me and you two seem to click in a way I don't understand." He sighed. "Babe, we've talked about this. She may be those things but I love you. Now, I'd like you to apologize to her about your behaviour." My jaw dropped. "No!" I growled. "Yes. You have to. Please. For me." I sighed heavily. "Fine." He smiled. "Do you want me to get her or..." I gave him a fake smile. "I'll go to her." He nodded. While he cleaned up my throw up and the soup, I went to find her. I saw her sitting on the couch alone. "Just get it over with." I told myself. I went over to her. "Maia?" She looked at me. "Hey there. Come sit." I sat near her. "Look. I'm sorry about my attitude. I don't want to come off as a mean person. I'm really not. Ask anyone. I'm sure you understand why I was acting the way I did." She nodded. "Yeah. You are frustrated about everything that has happened to you. I'm sorry about it all. I know we don't know each other but you can talk to me if you ever need it." So... She doesn't get it. That is not why I was angry with her. I still don't like her. I'll just have to fake it for Ross. Anyways. Christmas is tomorrow. I'm excited to see what Ross got me. The rest of the day was OK. It could have been better if Maia wasn't there though. Oh well.
-----The next day-----
I jumped out of bed. IT'S CHRISTMAS! I wasn't sick anymore. At least this trip was getting a bit better. Ross was still asleep. I straddled him with my stomach pressed to his. I kissed his cheek several times. He smiled softly. "Merry christmas baby." He whispered. "Merry christmas." He looked up at me. He kissed me. "Should we get up?" I asked. "No. I want to stay here and cuddle with you forever." I giggled. "We can't. We'll have to get up eventually." I told him. "Yeah, but not yet." He wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me tighter. "Can we just make out right now?" He asked nonchalantly. I laughed. We sat up with me still on his lap. "Sure." He kissed me passionately. Then slowly, I slid my tongue into his mouth. Our tongues fought for dominance. He won this round. I melted at his touch. The door swung open. "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!" All the lynches screamed. We didn't even bother to pull away. I guess we were too into it. They rushed over to us and took pictures and started making kissy noises. I pulled back. "Oh hey guys! When did you get in here?" I asked. "C'mon you two. Were going to open presents now!" Rydel squealed. "We'll be out in a sec. Give us a minute." They began to leave. I went back to kissing him. "Stop kissing or else." Rocky said. I jumped back. "We should go. We'll continue this later." He whispered. Ross gave me a piggy back because those crutches hurt my armpits. We got out and Maia was still there. Why can't she leave already? I sat on Ross's lap.
Ross's POV:
My siblings are so annoying sometimes. I gave McKenna a piggy back to where everyone else was since she complained about how the crutches hurt her armpits. Maia was still there. I don't know why she keeps showing up. I felt McKenna tense up. I put her on my lap to make her feel more comfortable. We all started opening presents. "Maia. Can I speak to you alone please?" I asked. I could see the anger in McKenna's eyes. She usually isn't like this. "I'll be back. OK?" She smiled but I could tell it was fake. "Mhmm" was all she said. I kissed her and walked off.
McKenna's POV:
She's trying to steal him away. I just know it. "I... have to go to the washroom." I lied. I was actually going to see what those two were talking about. I hoped over and listened. "I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" Those words stung like a thousand knives.
