They didn't speak of that night, as if it was a silent agreement between the both of them that what happened can't be talked about. The Hunt for the 'winged human' was delayed a few days as more pressing matters pushed the hunt down the list of things Arthur had to do.
The memory of his withering king haunted Merlin through the nights. Fingers gripped the sheets tightly, as the night clothing felt tight around his body, back arching upwards his mind turning down a dangerous path where memories were tainted with dark desires. Leaving him feeling desperate for something that he knew he couldn't have.
A burning ache has made it self at home in the pit of Arthur's stomach, a fire that couldn't be put out no mater what he did. His wings felt sensitive and for the first time unsettled, twitching under its restrains wanting to be let free. His mind was acutely aware of his manservant, the burning pit in his stomach flaring, sending sparks all the way to his fingertips, urging them to reach out.
Arthur couldn't concentrate at all, his mind not budging from it sudden infiltration with Merlin. Every thought that passes through some how goes back to the manservant, wondering what the boy was thinking or if he approved of a decision. At night everything got worse, his body was aching, begging for a release but never getting it. It was uncomfortable to the point of it being painful.
Arthur finally got around helping the hunters on a hopeless quest, searching for a 'beast' that was right under their noses. Mounting his horse, the search group set off through the lower town and out the gates, heading west where apparently the creature was seen.
"Are you okay sire?" Leon asked beside him, eyebrows pinched in concern. Arthur turned to his trusted knight, nodding silently flashing a small smile of reassurance before looking a head of him. Nerves gripped the fibres in his body, wanting nothing more then this day to be finished and send the hunters on their way. Which he hopes will relive some stress on his shoulders.
Merlin was too distracted bluntly staring at back of his king, his mind wondering down dark undiscovered paths of desire. Shock kicked him harshly back into reality, as rebel war cries destroyed the silence. Something hit his mare spooking it, sending Merlin flying, landing on the ground with in audible 'oowf'
The air leaving his lungs with a startled gasp.Merlin rolled quickly as a sword came down, eyes flashing gold making the sword turn into flowers. "Sorc-" the rebel stated to yell with wide eyes before getting cut off by another sword running through his heart, killing him instantly. "Rebels and their imagination eh merls?" Lancelot joked holding out a hand for Merlin. Chucking Merlin took his hand, eyes once again flashing making the oncoming two rebels conveniently trip. "Yeah weirdos the lot of them" merlin said with cheeky grin.
The fight was slightly more difficult as the hunters weren't the best swordsmen and had minimal weapons that were useful in hand combat.
Merlin kept a watchful eye on the king, making sure the rebels he fought were extra clumsy, "Merlin!" Percival yelled out as he killed off a rebel, unfortunately he was to late to react as a sword was pressed up against his neck.
Arthur attention was almost immediately on his servant when he heard the name, distracting him from the oncoming rebel from
Behind hit him from behind. A loud cry of pain leaving the king's lips as he fell to his knees. Pain erupting from his wings and ricocheting through out his body. The pained cry give Merlin enough time for his eyes to flash gold, the rebel's holding him, was dead instantly with a broken neck. The knights were distracted by their fallen king to notice, apart from Lancelot. The monetary pause in the fight continued with the knights attacking with a vengeance.
