Love # 1.1

The prince of Camelot was attracted to males.

There wasn't a name that people knew to describe the attraction between two males but it didn't matter since for Camelot this was almost unheard of and Uthur wanted to keep it like that but the news somehow got out to the people.

Uthur was against the whole thing, he needed Arthur to produce an heir, he needed Arthur to have a wife.  Unlike most times where things don't go plan, Arthur's attractions worked in Camelot's favour. Kingdoms from all over the land and even over seas, heard of the news and has offered an alliance through marriage with their own. Any of these kingdoms would be a great benefit for Camelot to have an alliance with.

Arthur was determined to marry for love not for the sake of an alliance with a kingdom he's never heard before, but he's not opposed to falling in love with a prince.

4 princes will be coming to Camelot for a week where they will have one day each to woo Arthur. After the week is done Arthur has to choose one prince to be in a relationship with for now. Unknown to Uthur, Arthur isn't planing on marrying the chosen prince if he didn't love him because Arthur was adamant he will be marrying for love.

Merlin was the least impressed, not that anyone would know cause he kept his true feelings under layers of lies and fake smiles. Merlin knew quiet well that his feelings towards his prince will only every be one sided and unrequited because Arthur is a prince and Merlin is not.

Merlin had past lovers a mixture of boys and girls, none that anyone else actually know about. They all died or left and Merlin had to pretend that they either meant nothing to him or they were nothing more then friends. It was hard trying to mend a broken heart and having no time to properly grieve so his heart never truely got fixed, it was just ignored.

"Merlin" a soft voice broke him out of his thoughts, blinking a few times at Morgana who looked at him curiously. "Are you okay?" She asked placing a hand on his shoulder, "I'm fine,  here is your sleeping draft" Merlin said stretching his lips into an award winning fake smile.  Morgana bought none of it, wrapping her fingers around his wrist and pulling him into her room.

"I consider you my friend merls" she said softly closing her door gently. "Friends tell each other things. So talk" Morgana said flashing a small smile as she dragged the serving boy to her bed, curious to see what's going on in the special serving boy's head.

"I'm just worried for my mother, haven't heard from her in a while" Merlin admitted another truth.  "There is something else." Morgana told raising an eyebrow, watching Merlin fidget under her gaze.

"I know but it's unimportant." Merlin said hoping for once Morgana would let it go, he didn't want to admit his feeling out loud it would make it all to real.

"How's Arthur treating you? You are getting enough food and sleep?" Morgana asked gripping Merlin's shirt as he moved away, not wanting to be alone, the quiet scares her because it screams the truth.

Merlin ignored his fractured heart and how it sped up at the mention of his name, covering it with an eye roll, "He is treating me fine, I'm fine" Merlin said a unknown smile creeping up as he remembers the morning he spends with the prince, eating breakfast with him and watching Arthur's eyes light up as he talks about things that interest him.
