"What?" I said lazily into the phone, blinking a few times to adjust to the light.

"Hey, I called you like ten times last night. We need to talk about Stefan and Damon; find a way to apologize or something? I don't know" Elena rambled.

"Sorry, I've been busy" I replied.

"Can you meet me a-" she started.

"Sorry... you're breaking up" I interrupted before hanging up and placing my phone on my bed side table.

I pulled the covers up before looking to my right to find Kol.

"Damn" I muttered as I fell back asleep.

~SALVATORE BOARDING HOUSE~

"So, let's not make a big deal out of this" I threw his jacket at him.

"My thoughts exactly" Kol replied slipping his jacket on.

"Besides, I expect you'll come calling soon enough" I held my head high.

"Mhm... confident much?" he smirked back as I opened the door to see Elena's shocked expression.

"Did you stop taking your vervain?" she asked as she moved aside for Kol to leave.

"You think he had to compel me? Please..." I stated.

"What's wrong with you? He tried to kill Matt less than forty eight hours ago" Elena said sternly.

"So much for not making a big deal out of this" Kol muttered in my ear.

"So is that how it's going to be now? Hooking up with originals even when they try to kill someone you know?" Elena snapped.

"Just because I helped you last night don't mean I tolerate you any more than I did beforehand" I replied.

"I should get going. Don't want to piss off the doppelgänger any more than I already have" Kol said sarcastically before I pulled him in and kissed him one last time.

We pulled apart. "What? I'm just having fun" I said to Elena as she looked disgusted.

"See you around Ms. Salvatore" Kol smirked, blurring away moments after.

"You should know that Esther is planning on killing her entire family. She's linked them all together with a spell. Whatever happens to one happens to all of them" Elena said coming inside.

"Well, that's great! Klaus will finally be dead. We win. Why do you look like someone just shot a panda bear?" I asked pouring myself a glass of Bourbon.

"Um, maybe because in order to kill Klaus she has to kill all of them, including Elijah, and he doesn't deserve this!" Elena reasoned.

"I'm supposed to care about Elijah?" I sipped from my glass.

"Shouldn't you at least care about Kol" she retorted.

"Of course I do! He's my favorite of them all but two seconds ago, you were pissed that he attacked Matt. It's almost a win-win" I responded.

Elena rolled her eyes before walking to the door to leave.

"Don't do anything to screw this up, Elena" I warned as I blurred in front of her.

"Why are you doing this?" she looked up at me.

"She's right, you know. Klaus has to die. They all do" Stefan spoke as Damon walked in behind him.

"See? It's democracy in action" I sarcastically said.

She scoffed before knocking my drink out of my hand and leaving.
