Hanging Out

"Hey El."

El smiled at her lover as he sat down with her on the couch. Now that it was "summertime", according to the TV and her friends, she was able to spend more time with Mike. She missed hanging out with him during the month of June because he was busy "testing". Now they could hang out and do things they always planned on doing together.

"Hi Mike," El greeted, still smiling. She took his hand and squeezed it gently. Mike smiled at her back and wrapped his arm around her shoulders and brought her in closer. El rested her head on his shoulder and cuddled up beside him. The two didn't have to say anything to each other, since they already knew how much they loved and cared for each other. Mike kissed the top of El's head and continued to cuddle with her.

Mike then used his mind to make the leftover Eggos float over towards them. El caught them as they came over and smiled at her boyfriend. He smiled back at her as she took a bite at the waffles that were now in her hand. God, did she love those Eggos.

All of a sudden, there was a secret knock on the door. El knew who it was so she used her powers to unlock the door and in came Hopper. Once the police chief saw the couple cuddling, he shook his head at them. He felt that they were too young to be in a committed relationship, but then again, he got around in the day. And he knew that Mike would be in a rage if he kept him away from El.

"Hey kids. I hope that's all you were doing in here," Hopper said. Mike turned a very deep red while El chuckled, not understanding what her dad was talking about.

"You're early Dad. It's 3 1 5. Not 5 1 5," El said, sounding a bit confused. 

Hopper sighed. "Had to sign off early today. There's nothing even happening in this town anymore. Sometimes I wish that the Upside Down would come back and make more kids missing. That way I could actually put my shitty job to use," he said. Once he saw the two teen's shocked faces, he chuckled. "I'm kidding! Geez, you kids can't take a joke."

Mike rolled his eyes at the chief. Sure, maybe things were boring now, but he wasn't wishing for more people to disappear for action to happen, even in a joking way. Especially after what happened to El and Will, he couldn't let that happen to anyone else he cared about.

"I just hope that nothing bad will happen ever again. That's all. I can't lose anyone again," the boy said.

El nodded in response and cuddled up against him more. Suddenly, the radio turned on and in came the song "Every Breath You Take" by the Police came on. Mike looked over at El and saw blood trickling down her nose as she giggled. Mike laughed and they both stood up and started dancing around the room. Hopper sighed and went to get a beer from the kitchen to give them a bit of privacy.

Mike and El continued dancing together before they both leaned in and kissed each other. Nothing was going to split them apart again. No matter what was going to happen in the future, they would always find each other.

During their happiness, no one knew of the new threat that was coming.

At Hawkins Lab, a bunch of doctors were in one of the lab rooms to experiment. They were working on groups in separating some old DNA they had with them. Using the tubes they had, they put the DNA mixes in them to continue their experiment.

The doctors turned on the machine to activate their secret project. Even though the lab had closed down a few months ago, some doctors who were loyal to the late Dr Brenner sticked around to continue his work. They were going to continue the MKUltra project whether the town members liked it or not. The two teens who had managed to close them down would soon realize that they had failed in trying to stop them.

The tubes filled with the DNA suddenly filled up with smoke. The doctors put on their goggles in order to not be blinded by the lights going off. Once the smoke cleared away in the tubes, the lights stopped working before going back to normal a few seconds later. Silhouettes were in each of the six tubes and they all stepped out at once. Three boys and three girls were now standing in front of the doctors.

"Welcome to living," one of the doctors said. "You are here to serve a purpose, and that is saving this town of Hawkins. We need to save the human race from damage. We gave you smart DNA from our old experiments. Now use it to help us:"

One of the girls stepped forward to the doctor with a smirk on her face. She then showed her left arm which had a 018 on her wrist. The doctor kept a straight face while she scoffed at him.

"You made us to just use us? That's not happening sir," she said. "We make our own rules," she added in before grabbing his neck, choking him.

The doctor gagged from being grasped by his neck. "Quinn... you can't... do this... you need to... help..." he gasped out.

Quinn continued to smirk. "I already am," she said before snapping his neck completely. Then she threw the doctor to the ground as the others started to attack the other doctors with their bare hands. The doctors all laid on the floor, bloodied up and bones broken on the floor, some with their organs ripped out.

"Delilah, Shawn, Evelyn, Grayson, Ezra," Quinn said to the newly created people who were all standing there together. Now that they were created and alive, their brains were telling them all what to do. They didn't need any doctors ordering them around now that they were here together as a team.

"Let's get to work. We'll save humanity ourselves."
