~Brantley's P.O.V.~

Today's the day I found out that Dax loves baseball so his room has music and baseball stuff all over it. The guys are coming over around 5 and I'm gettin Dax from school early and Payton is getting off early. Everything is going perfectly and I hope it stays that way. I was settin up the back yard for the party when I heard my phone ringing. I run up to the deck and Payton was calling me.

(Phone Convo)

Me- Hey baby. What's up?

Payton- Hey, just reminding you about getting Dax even though I know you don't need it.

Me- I don't, but thank you for reminding me anyway. Are you excited for the surprise?

Payton- Duh, but I'm more excited to be spending the night with you. Mister to busy to stay last night.

Me- I'm sorry darlin. I was settin up the surprise.

Payton- It's okay babe. I'll see you in about two hours.

Me- I'll see you then.

Payton- Bye babe.

Me- Bye Pay.

(End Phone Convo)

I hung up the phone and put my phone in my pocket and went back to what I was doin. I had some logs pulled up to the fire pit, a few tables, lawn chairs, and of course I had horseshoes set up. I looked at me phone and saw it was about time to go get Dax. So I went back inside grabbed the keys for my bike and went to go get him. He didn't know I was picking him up so I figured I surprise him. When I pulled up to the Elementary school I got a few weird looks but I just brushed them off. I walked into the school and went to the front office and waited for someone to talk to me.

"Hello, how may help you?" This old women asked.

"I'm here to pick up Dax Fleming." I said.

"What's your name sir?" She asked.

"Brantley Gilbert ma'am." I said.

"Yupp, his mother added you to the list this morning. I remember her calling." The woman said smiling and picking up the phone.

"Hi, Dax Fleming for dismissal.... Alright thank you." The old woman hung up the phone. "He'll be right here." She said smiling.

"Thank you." I said nodding and leaving the office. I saw Dax and he was wearin jeans that had a huge whole in the knee I mean huge.

"Dad!" Dax said when he saw me and started runnin. I picked him up when he got to me and he hugged me so I hugged back and put him down.

"What happened to your pants?" I asked while we were walking out of the building.

"Ripped em open playin kickball at recess." He said like he was proud.

"Alright well we'll stop by the house so you can change your jeans." I said getting on my bike.

"Why can't I wear these? I like it." Dax asked climbing on.

"You can still have holes just not that big." I said before starting the bike. He held onto me and I drove off towards Payton's house.

We pulled up at the same time Payton was pulling in the driveway. When we got up to the house I turned my bike off and Dax hopped off going to hug his mom.
