Jake's POV

I was just about to sit on my couch when I heard her ring tone, Callie. I smiled to myself before I answered.

"Hello?" I waited quietly when I heard a hitch in her voice. "What happened?"

"Can you come get me? I'm in town".

"I'll be there in five". I ran out the door with my keys in hand.

I quickly drove into town and saw her standing, puffy eyed, near her favorite tree in the park.

"Get in" I smile as she came up too the car.

"Thanks" A sniffle made me stare towards her, she still looked as beautiful as the day I first saw her.

"Where too?"

"Your house, please"

We quietly sat for the rest of the car ride, I loved being the person she came to when she needed to talk but I already knew this was going to be about Brandon. I saw how much she actually loved him, even if she tried to deny it. I knew that no matter how much I tried, I couldn't compete against him, so I respected her feelings and tried to stay distant.

We slowly pulled into my driveway and I looked at her again. My eyes seemed to be glued to her. Her eyes meet mine before I heard her soft, sweet, voice.

"Can we go inside?" Her voice sounded weaker then normal.

"Of course".

I watched her open the car door and exit before I bothered to move. I quickly followed inside and found she had already made her way to her favorite spot in the house, my studio.

"The studio.. it... wow" Callie mumbled, taking a look around at my paintings and pictures.

"So.. what happened?" I already knew she loved my work, I just wanted her to be happy again and if that meant listening to her talk for hours on end, I'd do this everyday.

"It's Brandon..." She stopped and stared at one my paintings, I remained silent expecting her to continue. "He snapped at me and I don't know what to do.."

"Callie, you love him. Anyone who has eyes can see it." I looked down at my hands.

"Jake, I might love him but there's nothing I can do about it. Our kind of love is forbidden".

"But you do love him?" I stared at her and I could almost actually see the wheels turning in her head. "Callie, think less and listen to your heart more". I looked around some more and watched her try and relax.

"Yes".

"Callie, love is worth it, Especially when you both love each other. It can get through anything, yes you need this family a lot. Although none of it will be worth it if you are not happy. He can make you happy. I think you need to go for it, Stef and Lena know what their dealing with and as long as you guys don't make it too public, you won't get caught. Open up and go for it".

"You know I hate you, right?" Callie's smile shined.

"I'm totally lovable, especially when you know I'm right." I let my smirk fly at her and it was returned. "So your going to go for it?"

"I think I will! Thanks!" Callie walked fully around the studio. "Jake, I didn't realize how much your work speaks out too the viewers."

"It comes from the heart, I try and let my soul and heart take over my hand and mind." I let my hand run across a 3D painting I made.

I watched Callie as she stopped at one of the paintings and broke into a huge smile. "You kept this?" I walked over and saw it was a painting of her.

"How could I get rid of it? Every time I see it, it reminds me of all the good times we spent together!" I couldn't help but laugh at how cheesy I became when she was around.

"What would I do without someone like you in my life, Jake?" Callie's deep eyes were locked on mine.

"Die." I said completely serious. Callie burst out laughing as hard as someone possibly can as I stayed straight face which made her laugh even harder.

"How do you do that?" She said in between laughs which finally got me to crack and laugh with her.

AN: I love this chapter because its good to have friends like Jake!
