A/N: Remember how I said I might be done...? W e l l, here's another chapter :')
"Argh!" You shout annoyed as you slam your palms onto the wet sand. Turning around, was the ocean, it's waves lapping onto the shore.
A moment later, a blue-haired girl with a long pony-tail appears, she looks down at you and giggles.
"(Y/N), I did tell you this was going to be hard." Kanan says the edge of her lips quicking up as she tries to hold in her laugh. "Now look at you, looking fabulous in those kelp."
You grumble as you pick a small piece of kelp off you. "Thanks." As you continue to pick the pieces off, you can't help but glance at Kanan, who was now stretching, back facing you.
You had agreed to let Kanan teach you how to surf, since she insisted on paying you back for helping her that other time. You wouldn't ever admit it, but you only agreed so you can spend more time with the girl.
"(Y/N)?" Realizing you had been staring too long, you shake your head as your cheeks flush red.
"Yea?" You answer as Kanan turns to look at you, face serious.
"I like this person, but I don't know how to tell them, what would you do?" She asks, although she seemed very unsure. You blink as your mind processes the words. It hadn't occured to you that Kanan might already like someone. The thought pained you.
"Well, I wouldn't worry about a thing and just ask them out, after all, who wouldn't like you?" You say biting your lips as you try to keep on a happy face to be more convincing. You should be feeling happy for her, but you weren't. You couldn't really feel happy at all.
"Really-?" Kanan raises an eyebrow as she asks skeptically.
"Of course, why would I lie to you?" You shrug as Kanan smiles a little.
"Thanks, (Y/N), knew I could count on you." The smile doesn't last long however as she starts shifting again nervously. "Let's say if I were to ask them out, how should it be done?"
You roll your eyes good naturedly. "You're gonna have a looooot of work to do. You should make it very extra, possibly give them the tickets to the next Aqours concert-" You pause to wink at Kanan, who laughs, it was her turn to roll her eyes. "And maybe even some free diving lessons."
Kanan grins as she stands up. "Alright then, better get preparing." She says quickly as she starts to jog off. "Sorry (Y/N), but I'll have to finish the lessons later!"
The next day, as you walk to school, you could hear murmuring of students from all around you, but you didn't really care. You wanted to know so badly who exactly Kanan liked you couldn't fall asleep last night at all.
As you arrive at your locker, a small petal catches your eye. It was then you realize what all the commotion was about. Someone had lined and decorated your locker space with rose petals.
Opening your locker quickly, you find a letter neatly folded. Without thinking twice, you unfold it so you can read it.
'Come to the roof during lunch.' You raise an eyebrow, this was extremely ominous. What could whoever wrote this possibly want with you? On the roof no less.
The letter occupies your mind for the rest of the periods before lunch, at least it took your mind off Kanan.
As lunch arrives, you start getting more nervous. You were even starting to doubt the meaning of this letter, what if they wanted to kill you? Ok, that was a little too paranoid, but still.
When the bell sounds, you take a deep breath and start walking up the stairs leading to the roof. 'This is it.' You thought as you turn the knob of the door leading to the rooftop.
"Oh my god." You deadpan as soon as you make sense of the situation. "You have got to be joking."
"Tada!" Mari grins as she pulls you outside leading you to a seat. "You're gonna love this."
You were still in a stage of disbelief, since sitting across from you now is Kanan, the source of your troubled mind since whenever you started liking her.
"Hey..." She smiles scratching behind her head. "You did tell me to be extra-" She laughs a little, although it seemed really strained. Above her was a banner with huge words saying '(Y/N), go out with me.'
"You didn't really." You say groaning as you feel a weight lift off your chest. "Kanan-" You didn't know whether to laugh or cry at this point, you just pinch the bridge of your nose. "You are such a dork."
Kanan blinks unsure whether that was meant to be a compliment or insult. "So is that a yes...?"
"Yes." You confirm as a smile breaks out on your face, and your laugh comes out unrestrained, this really was too much. The decorations were, no offense, pretty ridiculous too, all of it just screams extra. Although you guess it had to be partly your fault since you were the one who said for Kanan to do it.
"Great, I got you front row seats for the next few Aqours concert too. After all girlfriends get special treatment." She winks.
You just continue to laugh before reaching across the table to pull her into a hug.
"And we can start those diving lessons later today as well, if you wish." She adds as you just roll your eyes.
Before you part from the roof that day, after a huge meal with most of your favorite food, Kanan leans in for a kiss to which you gladly return.
A/N: It's 4am in the morning, I'm writing this, which means I'll probably regret making this chapter, but here you go. It didn't turn out how I wanted iT either, but THAT'S OK.
