It had been two days since I'd mentioned the idea of Luke to Cara. Ashton and I spoke yesterday and he said Luke was looking forward to meeting Cara which surprised me a little. I thought he would have been angry with Ashton for going behind his back and organising all this but if anything, Ashton was doing him a favour.
Cara and Luke's date wasn't until tonight but Ashton insisted that I hung out with him and the boys until then. Ashton and I hadn't even discussed the whole 'double date' situation which he seemed so hung up about the other night. Cara didn't want to meet a random stranger alone so I told her I'd come with her, that probably meant that Luke was going to bring one of his friends too. I was already 99% sure that friend was going to be Ashton.
"So what's Cara like?" Luke asked whilst taking a drag from his cigarette. We were sat in the park where I'd met Calum for the first time. Well, it was actually the second time but I could hardly remember the first time so that doesn't count.
"She's-"
"She's got a good body," Ashton cut me off before I could speak. His words lingered in my head. I was so confused. At first I didn't think Ashton liked me at all; I thought my crush on him was one-sided. Then when we were at the bar, that all changed; he actually seemed interested in what I had to say and he was being flirty. Then he goes and says my best friend has good body. I was even more confused now than I was to begin with.
"But not as good as yours," I felt Ashton whisper in my ear. I knew he was sat beside me but I didn't realise he was so close. I could feel his breath against my neck, sending a shiver down my spine.
I felt my lips curl into a small smile and my cheeks turn rosy. "She's, erm, she's really funny," I stuttered, trying to hide my embarrassment. Ashton was confusing me even more. One minute he seemed interested, the next he didn't.
"She actually told me to tell you to bring someone with you because she wants me to go with her," I looked over at Luke, trying to ignore Ashton.
"I can't, I have to baby sit," Michael said, rolling his eyes.
"Who would trust you with their child?" Ashton asked, chuckling softly.
"That's exactly what I thought but I need the money, I've not had a fix in days," Michael said whilst putting out his cigarette.
"I can't either, I'm seeing Adalynn tonight," Calum chimed in. From what the other guys and Calum had been saying, Adalynn and Calum have known each other for a while. I don't think they're officially a couple, more like friends with benefits. Luke had basically told me that Calum gets what he wants, when he wants with Adalynn. By the sounds of it, she only does things with him to make herself feel better. Luke had also told me she's quite popular at her school, so having sex with an older guy like Calum seemed like a cool thing to do. It certainly helped her social ranking.
"Ashton?" Luke looked over at Ashton who had now shuffled further away from me.
"I'm free," he answered.
I stared at the ground, smiling to myself like a complete idiot. I couldn't hide the fact that I was slightly happy that it was Ashton coming tonight, mainly for the reason that I got on with him the most out of all the boys so I knew things wouldn't get awkward, but also because it meant we got time alone to get to know each other more. I hoped that Cara and Luke would spend most of the evening talking to each other so that left Ashton and I time to talk too.
"Good. We're going to that place in town, you know the one that does the really nice pizza with the little french fries," Luke's face lit up with the thought of pizza. I was pleased that he was taking Cara somewhere nice, not just a fast food restaurant in the middle of town.
