I rolled over in bed and grabbed my phone off my bedside cabinet to check the time. 6:30. I groaned unintentionally at the thought of school. I'd hardly slept last night because all I could think about was Ashton. I couldn't decide how I felt about him. He's attractive but I hardly know him. I couldn't fancy someone I've known for a matter of days.

I've only ever had one serious boyfriend in the past. His name was Jeff and he was a year older than me. I thought that I was going to spend the rest of my life with Jeff but 'forever' turned out to be 18 months. He got a football scholarship in the UK so he went to live with his Uncle who moved out there a few years ago. We were both up for a long distance relationship but after a few weeks neither of us could cope with the time zones so we thought it was best to call it a day. I've lost contact with Jeff now which was a shame because he was such a nice guy. Whoever is with him now is lucky to have him.

I got out of bed, showered and got changed into my uniform. I went downstairs to get some breakfast, passing a note that was on the coffee table as I walked through the lounge.

Hi Georgia, we've left the money in the cutlery draw in the kitchen where it's safe, there's $450 there which should last you until we get back. Remember your maths homework is due in on Tuesday. We love you. Mum and Dad x

I knew straight away that my mum had written the note. The word homework gave it away. I continued into the kitchen to get some breakfast and the money out of the draw. My parents always left the money in the cutlery draw, even when my Nan used to look after me whilst they were away. The thought that is was safe there, even though if anyone was to break in, they would see the note saying the money was in the draw so it was all pointless in my eyes. They may as well just leave it in an envelope next to the note.

I grabbed my breakfast then left for school. I lived about 15 minutes walking distance from school and I usually met Cara half way there. I put in my earphones and started walking. I turned my music up so I was in my own little world. I carried on walking when I felt like someone was watching me. It felt like there was someone watching every step I took. I pulled my earphones from my ears and turned around slowly. To my surprise Ashton was following me down the road in his car. I stood in the middle of the pavement and raised my arms in confusion. Ashton pulled along side me and rolled down his window.

"How long have you been stalking me for?" I asked, still confused.

"I wouldn't call it stalking. I had to go to the shop and I was passing by then I saw you walking," Ashton explained.

"Hm, okay," I uttered.

"Stop looking at me all confused rich kid," Ashton chuckled. "I was going to offer you a lift to school but if you don't want one, then that's fine," Ashton's voice got quieter as he finished his sentence. He looked up at me from his car with a smirk on his face.

"Urgh, fine," I surrendered. I was secretly happy that Ashton was offering to give me a lift, after all, it was because of him that I got no sleep last night.

I got in the passenger seat like I had the night before and Ashton started driving.

"Do you even know where my school is?" I asked whilst admiring the scenery outside.

"Yeah, I used to go there until I got kicked out," Ashton looked at me awkwardly.

"How come you got kicked out?" I wasn't sure whether to laugh or to keep quiet.

"I guess you could say that school wasn't at the top of my priority list, besides, I'm not clever so it was pointless me being there," Ashton focused looking on the road. It sounded like he was disappointed that he got kicked out of school.
