I woke up the next morning feeling 100 times fresher than the morning before. The smell of smoke still lingered on my body and in my hair from yesterday so I climbed out of bed and took a shower. I changed into some sweatpants that I randomly picked from my closet and a vest top. I threw my hair up into a high ponytail and wandered downstairs.
My parents were both in their office, doing some kind of conference call which wasn't unusual for a Sunday morning. They worked all day, everyday. I walked into the kitchen to find Marge cleaning. Bless her.
"Morning Marge," I smiled at her sweetly then opened the fridge to get some orange juice. Marge was like a third Grandma. She was always at our house cleaning away and buying me sweets.
"Good morning darling, how are you?" She replied scrubbing away at the floor with a mop.
"I'm good thanks, how are you?" I grabbed a glass from the cupboard and poured a glass of orange juice. I returned the carton to the fridge and started looking for some cereal. I was starving.
"I'm good thank yo- watch the wet floor Georgia!" Marge put her hand out to stop me slipping over on the wet floor.
"Aw, thanks Marge," I giggled slightly at her over reaction. Anyone would of thought the wet floor was hot lava. I aborted my mission to get cereal and walked round to the other side of the island to get some bread to make toast. I placed the toast in the toaster and grabbed the jar of Vegemite out of the cupboard.
I finished my toast and orange juice and wondered how to spend my day. My parents were leaving tomorrow so I suppose I should spend the day with them. Not that they were making any effort to spend time with me. Both of them were still on their phones and laptops in the office. I got my phone out of my pocket and began texting Cara. I hadn't spoken to her since the party and I hadn't told her about meeting Calum yesterday. I was halfway through typing a paragraph when my dad came into the kitchen.
"Georgia, we were thinking of going out for a meal this afternoon," my dad strode over to his coffee machine and started to make himself a coffee. "We're going to that place in town that you've always wanted to go to," my dad continued. He was talking about a little place in town that I'd been desperate to go to for months. It had always been too 'down market' for my parents and it didn't match their snobby lifestyle, well that's what I thought. It was nice that my dad had actually thought about where I'd wanted to go for once, even if it was just to make me happy before they left.
"Aw great," I looked up from my phone. "What time?" I asked eagerly. I tried not to let it show but I was actually excited to go to this restaurant. I was bored of the expensive places where you had to dress up and talk politely. This place was a lot more relaxed.
My dad lifted up his shirt sleeve to check the time on his watch. "Well, it's 11:30 now so we'll probably leave around 12:30-ish. You're mother should be finished by then," my dad looked up at me and flashed me a smile. He then grabbed his coffee cup and returned to his office. His conversations were always short and sweet.
I decided that I should probably get changed out of the sweatpants I was wearing and change into something a bit more suitable. This place was relaxed but I don't think my parents would appreciate me wearing sweatpants and a vest top.
I wondered into my closet and picked out a dress. It was nothing too over the top but it showed that I was putting in a little bit of effort. I picked out some cute socks with frills and a pair of converse. Heels would definitely be out of place in a restaurant like this. I straightened my hair and did my make up, finishing just before 12:20. I made my bed to pass the time, saving Marge a job and cleared up some of the clothes that were dotted around my room.
