Dipper walked into his class and fell into his usual seat. The bags under his eyes were even darker than usual. The last few nights were torture for the young teen. Each night, all he could think about was the time in the sewer. Every time he fell asleep, his eyes shot open at the slightest noise, as he thought it was another monster coming to take revenge on what he did to that fish creature. Needless to say, most of his nights were spent watching Mabel as she slept. But not in a creepy way. No, he watchd her out of anger. He hated the fact that she was able to sleep and he couldn't. Another cause of him being sleep deprived was that it was impossible to get comfortable with a cast on. The thing was big and bulky and he hated it.

Unknowingly, Dipper fell asleep at his desk with his head resting on his hand. This moment of bliss only lasted a few seconds before he felt his hand ripped from under his head. His eyes shot open but he couldn't compprehend what was happening. all he knew was that his head was falling. A second later, his head hit the table...hard. The teen threw his head up and looked around in shock and confusion, for the person who did that to him. His eyes focused on his friend Chase, who sat in front of him and was currently giggling to himself. Dipper would have looked past that, but Chase was currently giggling with no one else around him, and he didnt have his phone out so he obviously wasn't texting someone. The teen leaned forward and thumped the back of his friend's head. Chase turned around with a huge smile on his face. he could always amuse himself.

"Why have you been so tired these last few days?" Chase asked, leaning back in his chair. Dipper ran a hand through his hair. He was so bugged out of his mind that he didnt have time to mess with his hair.

"I don't know. I guess i just haven't been able to sleep recently. I just keep on having nightmares." Suddenly, two arms wrapped around him.

"Hey Dipper." Emma said, kissing his cheek.

"Hey Emma. What's up?"

"What's up with me? What's up with you? You look half dead." She said, looking at the bags under his eyes and his terribly messy hair.

"It's kind of hard to explain completely. We can talk later." Emma looked like she didn't like the end result of that conversation, but she accepted it.

"Ok. But I have to work on a project during lunch so just come over after school and we will talk." She said before giving him a smile and walking over to her desk. Dipper sighed and put his head down. The teacher walked in and put her bags down on the desk at the front.

"Okay class. Today we are taking a test." Dipper's head shot up from the desk and he looked around at everyone who were calmly pulling out their pencils and pens. He had forgotten to study. The teacher passed out the tests, and as she passed Dipper's desk she said "eyes on your own papers". Dipper knew she was talking about him. The teen stared at the paper, trying to make the words make sense.

"okay..." he thought to himself, "wait-why are there numbers on this test? Is this math class?" He began to panic. He looked up at the top of the paper. Sure enough, it read "Geometry" at the top. "okay, okay. This is just shapes and stuff...wait-I know this answer...and this one. This stuff is easy!" Dipper began to circle the answers and then about 15 minutes later, he stood up and took his quiz to the teacher. She smiled and took it without hesitation. The teen walked back to his desk and laid his head down. As he was about to drift off to sleep, he heard the sound of a chair slide out from under a desk. His eyes bolted open, and he looked up slightly as a boy walked up to the teacher and handed her his test. Dipper put his head back down as he tried to sleep again, but he was abruptly stopped by more chairs sliding. He eventually gave up on the idea of sleeping durring class all together. When the class ended, as Dipper stood up, his teacher told him to stay after class.

"Mr. Pines...on your test, you...well, you should read this." She handed him his paper, and after one quick look, his heart sank. He had failed the quiz. He only got three answers right, and none of them were the answers he thought he knew.

"Dipper...have you even been studying?" she asked, folding her arms.

"Yeah. I just haven't been able to sleep." he replied, folding up his test and putting it into his bag. "I'll try to sleep better, and at home instead of school." he said, giving her a weak smile.

"Okay. I want you to retake this test next week. Now go before you're late to class." She said, pointing to the door. Dipper ran out of the classroom and into the hall. He didn't get one step in after that before slamming into someone else. He shook his head and looked up at the person. It was his sister Mabel.

"Hey bro-bro!" She said, bouncing up to her feet. Dipper just looked at her from his spot on the floor.

"Mabel. Why aren't you in class?"

"I could ask you the same thing. Now get up Dippin' sauce. You look like a dork down there." Dipper slowly stood up and rubbed his forehead. It hurt pretty bad from their collision.

"What class are you going to?" Dipper asked her.

"Um...I think I'm going to History. But I was meaning to ask you. Why do you look dead?"

"I can't sleep since the night i killed that fish thing-"

"Fishman." Mabel interrupted.

"What?"

"It's a Fishman. Not a fish thing." Mabel said, smiling.

"Yeah? Well whatever it is, I can't sleep anymore 'cause of it. That's what I get for looking in that stupid book again. I'm never touching that thing again." he said as he began to walk to his class.

"Don't give up Dipper!" Mabel said, as she ran to her class. She dissapeared down a hallway, and Dipper walked into his class.
