I'm back after your long wait and...wow! This one has gotten long! Anyways, I'm here to announce that this chapter is going to bring about some...

Dipper climbed to the top, peeking out and seeing a mass of red hair facing him. The teen climbed all the way up and walked up behind her.
"Mind if I sit?" He made his presence known and the tall girl turned to him.
"If you don't try to kiss me," Wendy smiled. Dipper felt his cheeks burn as he looked away, laughing nervously.
"Yeah, about that..." He began, sitting next to her. "I'm really sorry. I think it was just some residual feelings from, you know, way back then," he took a deep breath. "And I know that was totally out of line, and I used your vulnerable state and..." He noticed her smile widen. "Yeah, I'm sorry,"
"Dude, it's totally okay. I mean, I'm a pretty cool girl, no wonder you wanted to kiss me," she joked, swinging her legs over the edge. Dipper followed suit, taking off his hat and thumbing at the tree symbol. "So how have you been. You've been acting a little...off," Wendy noted.
"Erm-yeah-uh-you know, just the usual. Invisible demon thing might be stalking me and eating my emotions but...whatever. It's no big deal," he half joked.
Wendy looked at him sadly. She tried giving a smile, but it looked way too forced.
"Don't worry man, I'm sure you'll get this under control. You always do. You're Dipper-effin-Pines, man! The (not so anymore) Little Dipper. Man, if I know anyone who can figure this out, it's gotta be you," her pep talk made Dipper feel a lot better. He laid down on the roof, his feet still swinging slowly, and let out a long sigh.
"Thanks Wendy, you're the best,"
"I know; so what's this I've been hearing about you being 'the total ladies man'?" Dipper's face flushed a deep red as he looked away from the lumberjack, hoping she couldn't see it.
"Well-I mean-you know..." He stuttered, which only made his face turn darker. He took a deep breath, calming his nerves, then turned to her with his most stereotypical "fuck-boy" smirk and said: "How could any girl not want me. I mean, have you seen this hair?" The two burst out into laughter, Wendy having to hold her stomach from the crazed giggles.
"Oh, totally! How could I not think of that?" Wendy managed to get out. Their laughs died out, and Dipper released a sigh as he watched the clouds.
"I missed this," he turned his head to look at the red-head, who was already looking at him. Dipper motioned between them with his finger a few times as he said: "Us, ya know? We used to talk a lot. I mean, it was really just me stuttering and you talking, but still. I tried," Wendy nodded at that.
"Yeah, the guys aren't really fun anymore. It's all 'college this, and jobs that'. A lot has happened in three years man. I hate how we all had to change,"
"Yeah...but it's good that I changed, right? People started liking me more. I gained more friends than just having Mabel," Dipper stared out at the trees.
"Don't you see, Dipper? That's always been your problem. You were always so worried about people liking you, that you never showed them who you really are," Dipper let out a long sigh.
"Yeah, I know. It's just...really hard. Everyone liked Mabel, and I was just her weird twin brother. When we got back to California, I was so excited about everything that had happened, and I couldn't wait to tell the few people who would call me a friend," Dipper motioned with his hands a lot. Wendy just looked at him sympathetically. "But, they all laughed and made fun of me. Even when Mabel tried to back me up, they would say that 'I just needed my sister around to make me look cooler'...Mabel might've punched them after that comment," he forced out a chuckle, and Wendy put a hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, well you must've gained some confidence, since you came in here showing off that birthmark with your new hairstyle. Which, by the way, you haven't been showing off recently...Little Dipper," Dipper actually smiled at that, but he looked down and his smile quickly turned back into an expressionless look.
"Yeah, that didn't happen until we moved to Chicago. It was around the time my parents started fighting. I was so determined to make friends here, that I was willing to try anything. Including changing my whole look. So, I ditched my old clothes and went for something...cooler," he sighed. "But it never really felt like me, and looking back at it now, I felt a lot like that jerk from Mabel's mind. That weird opposite-me-thing?" He looked over at Wendy as he thumbed at the bill of his hat again.
"Oh, I remember him. That one's hard to forget," Wendy let out a light chuckle at the memory.
"I guess I just didn't feel right anywhere. Well...anywhere but here,"
"Well, Gravity Falls sure seems to like you - despite all of the deadly monster things going on, but yeah! Totally likes you!"
They just sat there in silence, watching as the sun set. Wendy opened up the cooler, short after their talk dwindled into the comfortable quiet, and pulled out two Pitt Colas for them. As they sipped on them, Dipper was immediately taken back to the times he had spent on that roof prior.
Tyrone, the wax figures, throwing pine cones with Wendy - actually, Wendy was in a lot of the memories on the roof. Which should've been a given, since she did show it to him. It had been her spot, and she decided that he was worthy enough to visit it. Sure, at the time, Dipper would've let her lock him in a jail cell, since he was just that into her. But, now it's different.
So, maybe being 12 and falling in love with the 15 year old lumberjack that worked for your Great Uncle wasn't the best way to go. It really seemed to cloud his judgement. But it did allow him to let loose. So, Dipper didn't walk away with nothing.
It was a good thing he wasn't still in love with her. It was hard to get over the red haired goddess, but he managed. She was now probably his best friend. And he couldn't really have those deep chats with anyone else, so it was really nice having Wendy around.
Dipper retired to bed when the sun set, and he bid Wendy goodnight as he watched her drive home. It was nice.
The next morning, Dipper was in a relatively good mood, which was totally weird considering their current predicament. Mabel...was less enthusiastic. Which was even weirder than Dipper's mood, and he wanted to ask her about it, but she wouldn't tell them.
So, they got on the bus in silence, and Mabel sat next to some girl up front, and Dipper sat in the back next to Chase. The bus rolled into motion, but Chase didn't turn to him. He continued looking out the window.
"Hey, Chase, you alright? Dipper asked him, head cocked to the side. Chase still didn't turn to him, but Dipper could see Chase's ears twitch, and his cheeks pull slightly, indicating that he was smiling. But then he spoke, and when he did, it wasn't his voice...
"But of course. Why wouldn't I be... Pine Tree?"
