Just saying...I LOVE the new update! although, I'm probably not going to use any of the stuff. Okay, so this chapter will be written in 1st person, from Dipper's perspective. Just a heads up. Alright, here it is.

"...what?!" I was shocked. What did she mean? Grave danger? "What do you mean, grave danger?"
"You know, as in 'this is really serious, no joke, danger'" she chuckled to herself. I raised an eyebrow, baffled at the fact that she was making a joke, seconds after saying I was in danger. She shook away the laughter and her face returned to an expressionless one. "Sorry, sorry. This isn't the time for jokes. This is serious." I took a quick look at her before grabbing the mystery girl's wrist and dragging her out of the building.
"Who are you and what do you want?" I asked my hand still firmly on her wrist. She yanked her arm out of my grip before answering.
"I'm Adeline. The author's daughter." I stared at her. The author was my great uncle's twin brother. She should be as old as my parents, but she looks the same age as Mabel and I. I looked at her for a moment before I said a single word.
"How?"
"How what?"
"How are you here? How are you my age?"
"Well you see...when a man loves a-"
"I KNOW HOW SEX WORKS!" I shouted, forgetting where I was. I quickly lowered my voice. "You know what I mean."
"Fine! If you must know details, I time travel. Well, more like dimension jump? I'm not exactly sure what to call it. Let's just say I travel a lot." I sighed, I had just gotten back to school and I was already having to deal with this. My hands ran through my hair before resting over my eyes. I let out a shaky laugh and shook my head.
"Okay, what about this whole danger thing?" I asked her. She shifted uncomfortably, switching from one foot to the other.
"Well...you see..." She paused, trying to collect her thoughts. "Remember that missing page you found in the back of your journal?" My brows furrowed. How did she know that? "Well, you just involved yourself in a whole mess of shit that you are not prepared for."
"Of course! Of course I do this to myself! I could've just stopped after that fish man incident but nooooo! I just had to keep poking the bear!"
"Nice analogy!" I shot a glare at Adeline that said not the time. She cleared her throat, her face changing to a blank expression.
"You know what? No! I'm not dealing with this right now!" She looked at me quizzically, her head tilted in confusion. "I'm gonna get to class - which is why I came back here in the first place - and just pretend like this-" I motioned between the two of us, "-never happened!"
"What the hell? You can't just walk away from this!" It was too late. I was already walking back through the door. Adeline followed behind, furius. "Hey!" She whisper/shouted at me. "Dipper! Stop!"
"Sorry! Can't hear you." I taunted before turning a corner. She peeked around the corner before following again.
"You can't just pretend like nothing is going on!"
"Sure I can! Watch me," I gave her a quick glance before walking into my class and closing the door.

"Welcome back mr. Pines. I know you've been out for a while, but now that you're back I expect you to show up to class on time!"
"Yessir! Sorry," I slid into my desk, a smirk gracing my features. My eyes flicked to the door where I saw that girl standing. Her eyes were trained on me, pleading for me to come out, but I shook off the feeling in my gut. I had just gotten back! I wasn't about to start off of a new tangent of mystery and danger..and discovery...and...adventure. the longer I thought about it, the more curious I got, the feeling returned.
My eyes flicked back to the door, but Adeline was gone! My lips quivered into a frown, where could she have gone? What was there for her to do?

I sat at the table with Mabel and Chase during lunch. We ate quietly, not making conversation. Which was weird. As I went to bite my sandwich, someone slid into the spot next to me. Our shoulders bumped, hard, causing me to literally bite my tongue. I made a quiet moan of pain as I glared at the figure next to me.
My narrowed eyes immediately widened when I real is ed who it was.
"Adeline?!"
"Hey Dipper. How's your lunch?" She reached over and grabbed one of my chips.
"What are you doing?" I was in complete shock.
"Eating a chip. What does it look like?" I glared at her for a minute. She returned my gaze with a smug grin on her face. I was drawn out of my stare by the sound of a throat clearing.
"Who's this, Dipper?" Mabel asked, leaning forward.
"I'm Adeline. I met Dipper earlier today." She responded in the most cheerful voice. I had a look on my face that said what the fuck?
"Hi. I'm Mabel, Dipper's twin sister." Adeline gave a sideways glance in my direction, her face holding a shit eating grin, before smiling at Mabel.
"I know. Dipper and I have talked a lot," I wanted to shout That's such a lie! How the fuck do you know this? But that wouldn't have been wise. Instead I faked a smile and nodded. Mabel looked utterly surprised.
"Um...I'm Chase...just in case you were wondering." The boy said awkwardly, brushing aside his blonde hair some. Adeline smiled at him before stealing another one of my chips.
"Nice to meet you!" I grumbled under my breath before glaring at my food.

After lunch Adeline dissapeared, and I didn't see her again until we were getting on the bus. That purple bow stuck over the seat behind the only empty spot on the bus, which also happened to be next to Pacifica. I dropped into the seat and breathed out a greeting to her.
"Dipper," She stated, not looking away from the window.
"Hey Dipper!" It was Adeline. Her chin rested against the top of the seat, her fingers just barely showing over the top where she was holding it.
"Yeah?" I raised a brow, turning in my spot.
"Is this your girlfriend?" She sang. I immediately froze, my eyes opening wider. Pacifica shot around, her cheeks burning red. Which, if I'm being honest, was really amusing. Seeing the Northwest heiress flustered made it really hard to keep a straight face.
"N-No Adeline, she is not my girlfriend," Adeline raised an eyebrow as if to say she didn't believe me. Pacifica scoffed, apparently she had regained her composure.
"As if. I would never date him. We're just barely friends!" Thanks. We could've just left it at "no", but thanks.
"Aw. You called me your friend," I joked.
"Don't push it Pines," She looked back out the window. Adeline hummed, looking back and forth between us.
"Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking. You are way too much of a dork to get her as your girlfriend," Adeline stated. Pacifica tried (but failed) to hide a laugh, as I glared at the girl in the seat behind us. She gave me a smile before lowering back down into her seat. I turned with a huff, and we didn't speak for the rest of the ride.

When Mabel and I got off of the bus, Adeline followed. Which wasn't very surprising. As we walked into the shack tossing our bags down, Stan appeared from behind a shelf, messing with an intricate piece of junk.
"Hey kids, look at this new 'attraction' I've made. Took me like four hours to put toge-" He stopped mid-"together" when his eyes trained on Adeline standing behind me. He dropped the piece in his hands. It shattered on the floor as his jaw dropped.
"Adeline?!"
