You Never Know

2. First day at work

With a jerk, I woke up thinking that I am late but when I checked the watch, there were still 20 mins to 6. By seeing this I smiled and went for my bath.

After finishing my bath, I wore a sky blue kurta and light blue leggings with a matching scarf. I headed towards the dining table to have my breakfast. I started having my breakfast when my father came and asked, " so all set for the first day? "

"yes, all set ", I replied cheerfully.

" That's a good child! so now you are a big girl? ", my father asked to which I giggled and my father smiled and said, " all the best beta " and I replied with a quiet thank you.

After collecting and checking my things twice, I went towards my mother. Where she shoved a mix of sugar and curd (it's a superstition that having this mixture of curd and sugar before doing any important work is auspicious, Which my mother believes) in my mouth saying all the best.

I stepped out of the building and went towards the cab which I had hired today to go to the office .

I sat in the cab and we started heading towards our destination. My phone buzzed indicating a text message which was from Samaira and Shanaya .

I smiled looking at the screen and texted back,

Thanks!

Ur welcome !! Reached ?? , she texted back

No! It will take more 20 mins !! 

Are you mad? it's already 9:05 !! Sabke saamne entry maaregi kya?

Aree what can I do? So much traffic jam is there na, What can I tell but I guess I will be there in next 15 mins.

******After 15 mins******

As soon as I reached the office, I paid the cab driver the fare and stepped out of the cab and headed towards the gigantic building of glass. As soon as I entered, I smelled the air-conditioned air which helped me to calm down. The waiting room had n number of expensive couches adjacent to the waiting room, there was the grand reception desk.

I walked up to the receptionist, Where a lady was sitting and working on the computer on seeing me there she asked,

"yes mam, how can I help you? "

"well, actually I wanted to know where the freshers are supposed to go ?"

"Ohh !!! actually the fresher's are having an introductory session which will be conducted in the conference hall on the second floor "

"Okay thank you !!! "

Oh god! only 5 mins are left.

I paced towards the elevator and waited for the elevator to reach the ground floor as it was on the 4th floor. When the elevator stopped on the 2nd floor while coming back to the ground floor I heard somebody barking on the phone. The way he was talking was a clear example that he was holding an important position in the company and I just prayed that the elevator reaches on the ground floor as soon as possible so that I can avoid this arrogant man. Finally, the elevator reached and I went inside it and pressed the 2nd floor.
