15. Pacify

The smile has not left my face from the time, I have left his house. I never knew he could be so cute just like a kid. When I first met him, I never thought he could act like this. I reached my home, went to my room and freshened up. After changing into my nightdress, I went to the dining table and sat on the chair for my dinner.

" So how was your presentation ?" My father asked while grabbing a seat beside me.

"Oh! It was great! All the seniors were happy with our work " I said cheerfully making him chuckle.

"That's good !! It's your time to learn beta, learn as much as you want. It will help you later on " He said in a soothing voice.

" Yes !!! " I said and smiled at him.

" BTW today you have to eat lauki ( bottle gourd ) for dinner " He whispered in my ear which was anything but a whisper.

" No !!!! What did you do this time? Because of you, I always have to eat lauki ( bottle gourd ) " I whined, making him sigh and my mother came with a cold look on her face. I glared at my father and started eating the vegetable with great difficulty, but my father was suffering more than me because he even hates the sight of it and my mother deliberately makes it when he makes her angry or makes some mistake. As I was eating my food, I could see my father making funny sorry expressions and my mother trying her best to control her smile and ignore him.

After gulping some food with great difficulty, I went inside my room and laid down on my bed to sleep. As I made myself comfortable on the bed within a few minutes, I slipped into great slumber.

I woke up from my deep slumber with my mother tapping my arm to wake me up.

" What's the time mummy ?" I asked my mother while she was folding bed sheets that were on my bed.

"It is 11:30 beta," she said and I woke up with a jerk.

"Shit! I woke up late " I said in a low tone and she smiled at me.

"It's alright! Somedays you are allowed to sleep late," she said and caressed my hair making me smile.

" Where is papa? " I asked her as I remembered yesterday's dinner incident.

"Ohh! Well, he has gone for buying grocery " She said and sighed making me giggle.

" What did he do this time? " I asked my mother and continued giggling.

" He had food from outside when he knows he should not have it that's why " She said and I giggled all the more.

"what's with you and giggling ?" she asked curiously which reminded me that he must be waiting for me.

" I have to go out with friends that's why, " I said to my mother and she chirped an okay. I went to my washroom, did my morning chores and wore a floral light blue top with a white scarf and blue jeans.

I had a toast and left my house around 12:00 pm. The whole ride to his house, I was cursing myself for waking up late and for making him wait for me. As I reached his building, I paid the fare for the auto and rushed to his apartment. I rang the doorbell and suddenly I felt nervous. The door opened to reveal him with a gloomy expression.

" Hello sir," I said nervously but he didn't reply and went inside. I followed him inside and as he sat on the chair, I sat beside him.

" So somebody is not talking ?" I asked and he just looked away.

"Okay! I will leave then. When nobody is speaking to me what should I do " I stated and stood up from my chair to go but before I could take a step, he held my hand and pulled me down making me sit back on the chair. Seeing him act like that made me smile with slight blush trying to make its way to my cheeks.

I leaned forward and whispered, " I was not planning to leave". Hearing this a small smile appeared on his face which he quickly wiped out and again maintained a blank face.

" I am sorry," I said softly while making him sigh. Having enough of his anger, I turned his face towards me and pecked both the cheeks. This time he smiled and I smiled back.

" So what did you have?" I asked him while noticing how enticing he looked in his morning attire.

He was wearing a grey T-shirt with full sleeves and black track pants.

" Umm... I was waiting for you " He said and looked straight into my eyes. Hearing him say that made me guilty and I again apologised to him to which he smirked and said: " If you are going to pacify me this way, I am okay with you coming late ."

As he said this, I immediately looked away from him and blushed, looking at which he chuckled.

" Again you are blushing! Don't blame me later than " He said in a husky voice and gave me a knowing look, seeing that I immediately rushed to the kitchen to make something for him while he laughed.
