Hey people! It's good to be back! This is a collab story between PeanutButter_Cup and me! The chapters will alternate between the writers. All of the even chapter will be written by me and the odd chapters by Karlee as she now likes to be called. It will also change perspective, with me writing from the legionnaires's point of view and Karlee from the mcd crew's perspective.
So let us begin this tale!

Gold's PoV
I grabbed Aphmau's hand pulling her up. I scanned the ragtag crew for familiar faces. I was met with two, Dante and Travis. Travis was a half devil warlock, much like me and Tyrant however Tyrant is a beast master while me a King. I shook his hand fondly, while patting him on the back. "You alright Valkum?"
"I'm fine Diamondclaw. Didn't expect you to be here." He grinned as he shook my hand. Dante smiled, wrinkles in his eyes. Damn...that old already...jeez being a half devil really does have its perks. I looked at the woman with bright blue hair, she glared at me; a familiar hatred in her eyes, I only smirked in response. I grimaced at the sight of the blonde Ro'meave, remembering the great crime that got me framed and caused me to go on the run. I stared at the shadow knight for a few seconds before I asked a question that was on my mind.
"Where is Liochant?"
Almost immediately Aphmau burst into tears and dropped to her knees. I dropped my sword in surprise, while Tyrant back up in shock; Freghyn only rolled his eyes. The blue haired girl attempted to comfort Aphmau while Dante spoke.
"Before we were swept here, Liochant sacrificed himself to let Lady Aphmau live." He chocked up, unable to look me in the eye.
I shook my head. "He was wearing the armour that Dragon gave him I presume?" I asked sternly, crossing my arms.
"What are you being so cocky about?" The blue haired woman shouted at me. I shook my head.
"No. The armour is made from Dragon steel, it will seal itself waterproof so that the wearer doesn't drown. Though they will still be affected by hypothermia, it'll keep the wearer alive for a few more hours." I replied, brutal honesty that I was famous for. Aphmau looked up at me. "So he's alive?"
"A good chance he still is. If not, " I slammed my left fist into my chest as a form of salute. "He will be remembered for all eternity as a legionary who made an honourable sacrifice, to put others before himself. He will be remembered." I said. Everyone else just looked down, I don't think I helped the mood. I ignored it as I picked up my sword and the driftwood I was carrying, until-
SCREECH!!!
I turned round, I looked up following where my team was watching. A bright line of black, purple and green fire was scorching the coast, forcing a skeletal sea serpent to dive back into the dark grey waters. I knew exactly that this was one of the guardian beasts that had stalked us ever since we were beached on this island. I retreated back in fear, ramming my back into a bleached whale rib cage. I winced in pain for a second, before Atrocous spoke.
You might want to run, you bastard.
My thoughts exactly.
"People! If we don't want to be eaten alive we need to get moving! Take only your valuables/essentials and follow us!" I shouted, beckoning the others to follow me. Many of the fallen angels groaned and moaned about achy bones as they stood up, Jade was attempting to pick up her load but fell forwards her strength leaving her. I caught her, however winced in pain when I did caught her. Wounds didn't heal completely yet. I'll worry about it later. I placed her load over my shoulder while she kissed me on the nose. "Thank you."
I only smiled. "Just keep smiling, and I'll be happy." I replied as the others caught up to me. "Hey minister!"
I looked to the side to see the black haired little girl holding a small piece gold in her small hands. "I think this belongs to you." She said handing it to me.
I knelt down, picking the small slab of gold from her hands. It had a small engraving of the legion's symbol in the middle and in the bottom right hand corner it had a eagle's head engraved into it. I flipped it over to look at the back to see a quote etched into the back. "Be kind when you can. But be ruthless when necessary." I muttered, recognising the motto of the Goldheart clan. I smiled, ruffling the girl's hair with my left hand. "Thanks kid. What your name?" I asked, using a piece of driftwood to pick my way up the beach. "Alina! Yours sir?"
"Gold. Just call me Gold." I replied as I faced the grey grim mountain range. Though I noticed and small orange speck near the base of the tallest mountain.
