"I don't know when my tale will end. But never will my gravestone say....I gave up."
- Steven."The road to hell is paved with good intentions. But you've just been sent to Tartarus!"
- Galbraith to Ivy.You know the one good thing about flying at an island at Mach three?
You get to avoid all the bad things about the terrible ass island.
The bad thing?
You're flying at an island, one made out of stone, at Mach three speeds. You can surely do the math.
Vlyad coughed up gravel as his eyes opened up slowly, two dark figures were standing above him one was seemingly bent over him while one had their arms crossed over their chest.
"Vlyad! Vlyad! You awake? Can you talk?" The one who was bent over him asked. The voice was familiar, but he couldn't recognise as he was coming to conscious.
"I don't think he can smart ar$e! We just pulled him out from 200 pounds of Irene knows what!" The other one shouted, female definitely.
"Abbey! Language!" The other voice shouted back, shaking his shoulders trying to wake him up.
"Excuse me? You're the one swearing most of the time!"
"It's stress. And it slips alright!"
"Mhm! Like I believe that!" The female sassed back.
The two voices continued to bicker, another man stepped in between them trying to break up the incoherent bickering. He could hear the phrases of 'brother' and 'little sis' being tossed around the bickering. They continued, not realising Vlyad sitting up and coughing up a mouthful of gravel. The two of them stopped as the third man immediately spotted him awake, the other two turned over to Vlyad who almost recognised the three of them immediately. His siblings. Garroth, Gold and Abbey.
His siblings were a little more of the thin side since he had last saw them. But that was to be expected on an island that was trying to kill you every five minutes. Abbey's hair had been slightly torn and was only reaching down to the back of her neck rather then her whole back. Gold had bandages tied across his leg, blood stains evident on them, he looked tired bags under his eyes. Garroth had a large gash in his armour, like something had tired to claw through it.
Surprisingly, it wasn't Garroth who tackled him into a hug but Gold.
The half devil lifted him into a hug, almost crushing his ribs in the process. Vlyad laughed awkwardly, wincing from the sudden pain. "Hey Gold. Ribs!" Vlyad squealed as Gold realised and dropped him. He patted him on the head a warm smile on his face, one that he normally only shared with those close to him. Garroth almost immediately tackled him into a hug, knocking him down onto the ground. Vlyad hugged him back, missing the embrace of the brother he had grown up with. Abbey was the last, embracing her older brother in a gentle hug before letting go to assist Ares onto his feet.
"How are you little bro?" Gold asked, patting his head.
"I missed you guys. Everyone thought you were dead." Vyald said, looking up at the half devil.
Gold smiled sadly, he then gestured for Vlyad to sit next to him. Vlyad nodded and sat next to his older brother, Gold unscrewed his canteen and took a sip. He looked down, pawing at the ground with his foot.
"Vlyad. I want you to make a promise to me."
"Yeah. What is it?"
"If...when I die. I....want you to protect my kids...and Jade."
"Why? Why are you saying that?" Vlyad asked, he was cut off by Gold shaking his head.
"Vlyad, you're immortal you can't die even if you tried. I'm going to die soon and...I want someone there for them, for my family, if I can't be there." Gold had a remorseful look on his face, a look a future regret and pain on his face. He patted Vlyad on the back, offering his canteen that Vlyad quickly declined.
"If that does happen...I'm gonna miss you." Vlyad admitted, looking up at the darken sky.
"Me too little bro. Me too." Gold replied, patting his head.
