Chapter 7: Conflict

"Hey, hey. Rei...you doing okay?" Kendrick asked as soon as he caught up to her. She didn't answer, but instead, she walked faster and away from any human contact that was there by walking down the stairs instead of using the elevator.

She could hear his footsteps as she walked down the 1st of the other 6 flights of stairs. His footsteps were louder and heavier than hers, so the sound of his feet overpowered hers as they quickly walked down each flight. The tears streaming down easily on her rosy cheeks. She felt as if there was nothing she can do to change the way she was. She felt stupid, maybe even worthless. All those emotions that hit you like a train and leave you broken and in tears, possibly even pain.

"Rei...talk to me please." He pleaded towards the young female. She stopped for a second and stood there, before he gripped her and harshly turned her around to face him.

"W-what did I do wrong Kennie? How can I f-f-fix myself?" She said as she shook slightly. He looked at her with wide eyes before getting a tissue and wiping away her tears. He then pulled her into his embrace as she silently sobbed, gripping his shirt as she did.

She was regretting what she did. She hated when someone was mad at her and she didn't know why. It made her confused, and her being confused makes her seem weaker than she'd already believe she was. To others, it may seem as if she was weak as well. She generally doesn't like the idea of showing emotions to anyone since "that" happened, and she tried to make sure that she didn't. It's just... whenever something happens to her like this, she can't control how she snaps. More so, how she handles it.

It came to a shock to Kendrick as well. Her sarcasm was heavy, and her sass was to its highest just a minute ago, but here she is now, balling her eyes out; a sight he wishes that he'll barely see again. How she looked, the way she shivered, the amount of brokeness in her voice; he soley wished that he wouldn't have to deal with such an encounter any longer. Her emerald eyes were glassy, her petite body was practically burning, and that sweet, enchanting voice of hers sounded wrecked and destroyed. He barely could've masked his anger.

No, he didn't understand the situation clearly, and he wishes that he could, but to see the woman you obviously have sort of an interest for, just break down, as if they were about to shatter and drift away completely, was heartwretching. Her sobs got a bit silent, but her shivers ran on, as if she saw someone she was genuinely afraid of. He made sure that she was able to let it all out, and that when she recovers, it could be as if she hasn't even cried before.

Hui Yin and Caleb came after a minute or so, watching as the one who dripped heavy sarcasm just a few minutes ago broke down and cried into her closest friend's chest as he drew small circles upon her back in a way of comfort. They were honestly surprised by the scene, trying to take in as much as possible. By the time as she acknowleged them, her tears ran out, and the comfort was slowly putting her back together.

They then talked about it and worked it all out. They then went to the building to go practice as a group for the first time. When they got there, Jihye and Hayato were already warming up, smiling to each member as they passed. Reaching to Reina though, Hayato did the same, but Jihye decided to scold the youngest, and considering as their teacher is just coming through the door, she takes it and runs.

"Why are you just reaching to practice Reina? We were supposed to be here about half an hour ago." She said matter-of-factly. The girl mentioned just walked passed the inconsiderate female and went in the corner to stretch. Reina was a person that'd prefer to stay by herself in times like these. Considering that she never went to a public school after what happened to mama, being by herself was something she required at times.
