*Isabelle's POV*

Sleeping for the rest of the night was next to impossible. I tossed and turned, thinking about what happened with Calum. To put it simply, what I did was rude and unthoughtful and he didn't deserve it.

I reached towards my bedside table and picked up my phone. Unlocking the screen, I started to slowly scroll through my contacts. I didn't have to search far until I found the number I was looking for. Pressing the 'send new message' button, I typed quickly.

hey ash. i know it's early but please reply when you get this, can i please have calum's number? x

I read it through a few times then hit send. Returning my phone to its previous spot, I stared out of the window for a while. Watching the quiet night sky helped me relax, I found peace in the stillness of it all. Tossing the bed sheets off me, I pulled myself to my feet and crept to the door leading outside on to a small balcony. Luckily I had chosen the bedroom with a seating area outside, the balcony wasn't much but I managed to fit two cushioned pod chairs at either end.

I flumped into one of the egg shaped chairs and brought my legs up, embracing my knees with my own arms. The air was humid and full of nightly noise. The sun had just began to rise but the sky was full of bright stars and one big moon.

I shifted into a more comfortable position and rested my head against the soft, velvet material. Deciding that the day would only come quicker if I slept, I closed my eyes and let my mind stray to anything that wasn't Calum.

~~~
I awoke to a similar silence of the night, except instead of the percussion of crickets it was the singing of birds. My legs were numb from being curled into my body for so long, making it almost painful to walk back into my bedroom. I hobbled awkwardly to my phone, the screen brightening to tell me I had just received one new text. To say my timing was perfect would most definitely be accurate.
I slid my thumb across the glass, now reading the words in front of me.
Cal's number 0491 570 156. can I see you soon? I miss you :( x
I rolled my eyes at the screen although Ashton couldn't see me.
You live like 3 houses down, make an effort ;-) x
I sent the message and gently threw my phone on to my bed. I made my way down to kitchen, enjoying the fact my legs no longer felt numb.
~~~

My hair was wet from my shower and my clothes stuck to my body were the remains of water lingered. I held the phone to my ear and listened to repeated sounds of ringing, chewing my lip nervously in anticipation.

"Hello Isabelle." I expected to hear Calum's husk voice but instead I was greeted with a softer one.

"Ashton? I rang Calum why are-" I ran my unoccupied hand through my hair,

"He isn't in the room so I answered instead. Do you want me to go get him?" I heard some moving, assuming it was Ashton going towards Calum.

"No!" I half screamed, half protested down the microphone, my breathing becoming fast.

"I mean no, it's okay. But could you pass him on a message?" I let out a heavy sigh and tried to control my breathing.

"Sure Belle." I imagined Ashton smiling down the phone, his dimples evident in his expression.

"Just tell him I'm sorry, but I want to speak with him so I can say it to himself. I mean tell him I'm sorry but I also want to say it to him too." I mentally hit myself at how stupid I must be coming across.
