In my opinion, I'd never have thought I could get such a great guy. I mean, hunting isn't the best job ever, but being Dean Winchester's girlfriend sure is. We kind of knew it would happen the second we saw each other. I guess you could say it was love at first sight.
I sat in the back seat of the Impala, humming along to Come As You Are by Nirvana in the awkward silence. We had finished a hunt and we're now going to a bar to celebrate.
We parked and got out of the car, and headed into the bar. Dean seemed to be avoiding me all day, which was really odd. Maybe he's just tired, I thought. We all are. We slid into a booth in a back corner of the bar, and Sam and Dean gave each other a knowing look. We sat there in awkward silence again, until Sam finally cleared his throat and said, "I'm gonna get us some drinks," and left.
"Hey Dean," I calmly said. "Is everything alright? You seem to have been avoiding me, or am I just crazy?" I chuckled, trying to lighten myself up. And possibly Dean too.
"Oh yeah, I'm just really tired," he explained. That's what I thought. I'm not sure if I should be relieved or just more suspicious.
"Actually, Y/N, I—" he started, but was cut off by Sam plopping beer bottles in front of us. Dean gave Sam another uncanny look, and Sam headed off to the bathroom.
"Okay, Dean. What's going on? You can tell me. Just—"
"I have nothing to give you," he interrupted. I raised my eyebrow at him. "I've been avoiding you because I've been so nervous about this. I don't have the money to give you something, but I have the guts to ask you something. Y/N, will you marry me?"
I stared at him in awe. I wasn't sure if he was joking, or if he was actually serious. "Are you serious?" I asked.
"No, Y/N. It's my new pickup line. Yes! I want to marry you!" I shook my head in disbelief, hiding my face in my hands. "Will you?" He asked again.
"Yes Dean. I'll marry you," I laughed. He leaned over the small table to kiss me. As soon as he pulled away, Sam came back over, smiling at Dean's smile.
He whispered to Dean, "I'm guessing you did it?"
"I did it Sam. I fucking did it," he said out loud, smiling at me with the biggest and best smile Dean Winchester could make. Sam held up his bottle and said, "To the Winchesters."
"To the Winchesters."
