Sparks of green and yellow went off in the air and drizzled down, slowly fading. It was Bilbo Baggins's 111th birthday, and Frodo's 33rd. Gandalf was lighting off fireworks and demonstrating his magic to children. The smiles on their faces were priceless.

Y/N was happily entertaining folks with her fiddle, playing joyful tunes allowing people to dance. She finished her song and put her fiddle down—still holding the bow—to take a break. (there's a little surprise before supper and it cannot waaaaiit)

Just as the hobbit was heading to get a drink, a rosy-cheeked Meriadoc Brandybuck stopped himself from running by grabbing Y/N's arms.

"Y/N!" He said out of breath. "Want to go check out those fireworks Gandalf's got? We can set something off!"

"Merry..." she scolded.

"It'll be fun! You know it!" Merry beamed.

"I...guess so," y/n said unsurely, yet smirking a bit. He grabbed her arm and pulled her off, to hide behind the cart loaded with fireworks. Y/n giggled, for she hated the trouble him and Peregrin Took get into, but she secretly loved making mischief with them.

They hid behind the cart as Gandalf grabbed a few and walked away. Once the coast was clear, Merry tapped on a tent, and out came Pippin.

"Hello, y/n!" Pippin shouted. Merry and y/n shushed him, and hoisted him into the cart.
She looked back at Gandalf, and smiled, watching him entertain the children. She focused back when Pippin found a firework.

"It's too tiny!" Y/n complained.

"No, no," Merry agreed. "The big one, big one!" Pippin dug for one, and pulled out a large, red, cane-looking firework. Merry gasped while smiling. Pippin immediately jumped and ran off, and Y/n chased after him, Merry behind her.

They ran into a tent, and Pippin set the firework down. "Why so mischievous?" Y/n scolded.

"C'mon, y/n!" He responded. "You know you love it! Its fun!"

"I guess it does put a smile on my face," She beamed, watching him smile back. Their moment vanished when Merry came bustling in the tent.

"Let's do it!" He whisper-shouted. Him and Pippin balanced the firework up, while Y/n lit it, and said, "Done!"

"You're supposed to stick it in the ground!" said Merry.

"It is in the ground!" Pippin worriedly confirmed, letting go. Y/n stepped back. A lot.

"Outside!" Merry caught it, sending it back to Pippin.

"This was your idea!" But it was off. Pippin screamed, both hobbits falling to the ground, with soot covered faces. Y/n  jumped back more, watching it go up in the air. It was yellow, and once it was high enough, it transformed into a dragon. She chuckled, but stopped once it flew down and headed for the people. They screamed and ducked, but it flew off above them, and then burst into a clump of multiple beautiful golden fireworks. People cheered. Merry and Pippin stood up, and Merry said, "That was good."

"Yeah," Pippin responded. "Let's get another one!" Y/n saw Gandalf approach them, and ran away. From a distance, she saw him grab the hobbits by their ears. She ran away back to her fiddle.

After a few songs, she finally went for that drink, only to see Pippin and Merry—still covered in soot—doing dishes. "There's always a consequence!" She told them.

"Oh, be quiet," Merry chuckled.

"It was fun though! Wasn't it, y/n?" Pippin joyfully asked.

"Yeah, it was. And you know what's even more fun?"

"What?" They both asked.

"Not having to do dishes!"

"Very funny," Merry rolled his eyes.

"I don't mind it!" Pippin said, smiling. He was always smiling, or at least y/n has never seen him upset before. She loved how happy he always was, she loved how he always beamed with joy, she loved how much fun he had with Merry getting into trouble. She loved everything he did. I guess you could say that she loved him.

Bilbo made a speech, and then suddenly vanished at the end of it. Y/n didn't question it, for she knew how strange Bilbo Baggins was. After that, she turned her attention back to Pippin. A spirited song started to play, and y/n contemplated asking Pippin to dance. She knew he would say yes, because he never says no.

"Pippin?" She grabbed his attention. "Would you care to dance?"

"Of course!" He grinned, jumping over the counter. "Oh, wait!" He ran off, and I assume it was to ask permission from Gandalf to take a break. (take a break and get awaaaay) He tan back and jolted y/n's arm, pulling her near the music where the other folks were dancing. They danced and danced, with grand smiles on their faces. The tune faded away, and faded into another. Y/n and Pippin were out of breath, so they happily walked over to a comfortable bench to relax.

"Wasn't that jolly!?" Pippin asked.

"Definitely," y/n responded, full of laughter. She really did have a jolly time with him. She always did.

"Pippin," she nervously started, "I must tell you something."

"Anything!"

"Well," she smiled, "Ive always perceived you and Merry as my greatest friends. But, you...I don't know how to say this," she tripped on her words.

"It's alright! You know you can tell me anything!" Y/n laughed at his still spot covered face. She didn't know how to tell him. She partly didn't want to, but knew she had to. So, instead of telling him, she showed him, by quickly pecking him on the lips. She mentally face palmed, beyond embarrassed.

"You like me?" Pippin excitedly inquired.

"Yeah. I really do," she confessed.

"To speak the truth, I've always been quite fond of you, y/n! I thought I would be taking it too far if I told you so," he nervously laughed.

"Well, I'm glad we feel the same," y/n smiled. Pippin kissed the girl once more, and asked for another dance. Y/n could not quit beaming, watching his joyful, grimy face dance with her.

"Pippin? Would you like to come over my home for some tea?"

"I'd be delighted!"

"I think some tea would be good after all your drinking," y/n mumbled. She turned around to see that Gandalf had been watching them. He was smiling at her, and she remembered Pippin's dishes. She glanced back at the hobbit, then back to the wizard, to see him wave his hand in permission. Pippin grabbed y/n hand and skipped away to her hobbit-hole, laughing with joy.
