POV: 1st person (wow so surprising)
Prompt: Y/n tells Alex about a way she used to feel, Alex overreacts, which leads to an argument.
Warnings: none just read it you assbutts———
Alex and I have been friends forever. And when I say forever, I mean forever. Our parents were exceptionally good friends before the both of us were born, in which Alex is only older than me by seven months. We were in the same classes mostly, and we both went to the same schools. Our families were so close to each other that the Summers ended up moving across the street from us, the l/n's. And then we come to today, and you'll probably be able to guess where we stand now.
"This sucks. Thanks Alex. At least you could still see where you were walking when you got your mutation," Scott murmured from the backseat of Alex's car.
"How is this in any way my fault?" Alex defended himself, making irritated faces at the drivers in front of him.
"Hey, it's nobody's fault. Stop arguing you two, it's all you've done this whole car ride."
"Yeah, y/n," Scott interjected, "You could still see with your mutation."
"Well, Scotty, I could make you think different about this topic." I said, and Alex snorted at my pun. That's right, I forgot to mention that I have a mutation, where I can alter peoples' thoughts and emotions. I'm definitely not very good at it, but I sure am capable.
I could hear a quiet, "whatever" from Scott, as he slumped back in his seat in surrender. After about ten more minutes in the car, we pulled up to Charles's house. Or should I call it, Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. I attended here with the X-Men, but it wasn't exactly a school like it is now.
We walked up to the grand front doors and walked in, Alex guiding Scott down a few steps, as Scott said, "It smells old in here. Is this a school or a museum?" I laughed at his comment. He wasn't wrong. Scott then had a brief conversation with a girl in which I paid no attention to. Once the red-headed girl had left, I saw my old friend Hank McCoy prance down a staircase.
"Hank!" I exclaimed as he approached me. I'm a sucker for reunions.
"Y/n L/n," he stated, grinning.
"Whoa! What happened to the big, blue, furry you?" Alex joked. Or asked. I can't always tell with him.
"Oh I uh," Hank stuttered, "I keep him under control now. How are you guys?" Relationship wise? We're finally together. Life wise? Actually not that bad for once. I just responded with a "good" as well as Alex. I smiled at him, and Alex introduced Scott to Hank and vice versa.
"Where's the professor?" Alex asked, after an uncomfortable silence.
-TIME SKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY DWIGHT K. SHRUTE, ASSISTANT REGIONAL MANAGER-
After Scott got enrolled, Alex and I decided to walk around the outside of the school. The sun was high, and there were no clouds to be seen. "Since we tell each other everything," I started, laughing at myself a little bit, "I guess I should tell you that when I was like, maybe around thirteen, I had a crush on Scott." (yall I know Alex was like a teenager in 1963 and now its 1983 and scott's still a teen so shh just pretend)
"Are you serious?"
"Yeah. Obviously it was stupid, and it won't ever happen," I chuckled.
"You've been my best friend for my whole life, and this whole time you've had a crush on my idiot little brother?"
"Calm down, it only lasted a couple of months. And I was thirteen!" I defended myself. I hope he's not getting angry about this, because an argument about this would just be ridiculous.
"Yeah, but I've obviously liked you since I first met you! We had a fake wedding for Christ's sake!" He shouted.
"Oh my god, Alex. You're bring ridiculous! All that happened, was that when I was thirteen, I thought your brother was cute. Is that such a crime? Alex, I love you! Not Scott!" I could feel a salty tear roll down my cheek. I hated being yelled at. Especially by Alex.
"You do?"
"Of course I do! Do you really think I'd ever end up with your brother?" I sniffled and wiped my hand with my green sweater sleeve.
"I love you too, y/n. I love you a lot. I'm...sorry. I'm such a dumbass," he softly said, looking down at his feet kicking the grass.
"Yeah," I giggled. "You are a dumbass."
"The biggest, dumbest, ass on this planet!" He shouted, spreading his arms. A few students walked by, staring at him in confusion. I kicked his shin, him wincing.
"Sorry, guys!" He waved at them. "Have a good day!" I looked up at his shoulder-length blond hair and laughed.
"Yup. I definitely love you."
"Love you more."
"Nope," I finished, pulling him in for a quick, gentle kiss.
