The Only Reason

Oh, shit.

I found myself on Alex's couch when I saw my ripped skinny jeans lying on the floor. I grabbed them and quickly put them on before he woke up.

"Dammit. Where's my phone?

I checked my phone when I saw a text from Ashton and Michael. Ashton's said:

Hey can we talk?

Mikey's said:

Why haven't you answered any of my calls? Call me back when you read this.

What would Ashton possibly want to talk about? There was nothing to discuss with him. Me and him are over.

Alex was starting to wake up.

"Hey. Where you going?" He asked.

I had to get out of here.

"I'm going back home. Why?"

"Just wondering."

"Love you!" He said.

"Love you, too."

The phone was ringing but he wouldn't pick up. I was back home trying to call Michael back. I took a shower and changed into my black baseball tee and black shorts. Michael didn't answer so I left a message.

"Hey, Mikey. You wanted me to call you back, so.....yeah. Bye."

I was thinking about Ashton's text, when I remembered me saying for him to text me when he hasn't lost his mind. I guess I might as well answer. I wanted to hear his voice so I called him instead.

"Ash?"

"Yeah?" He said.

"I'm sorry I've been hard on you. I'm really sorry."

"It's okay. I get it. You were just mad."

"So mind telling me why you made Michael punch you?" I asked.

"I went to ask him why you two where hanging out. I guess I was a bit jealous of him. I want to be with you, Lilly. You've been on my mind a lot and I can't help myself. I love you, and I think we could actually have something. I promise if you ever change your mind and want to get back together that I won't leave you. I'm serious."

I was speechless.

"Is that the sober Ashton talking?" I said jokingly.

"Yes." He said laughing.

I still had feelings for him, but I was with Alex. And we had just taken our relationship farther.

"I'll think about it." I answered.

"Thanks, Lil. It means a lot to me."

"I know it does."
